Breakfast is excellent, convenient for airport bus

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: breakfast
first impression is not good as the hallway on each floor is very long, which is a bit scary when my room is nearly at the end. Room is small and not very bright. Bathroom is small but tidy and has been renovated. Location is not in the tourist center but not far (two tram stops which means it is walkable). Perfect if you are for business trip as the airport bus stop is very close by and when your company or school (e.g. U of Oslo) is along the tram route of 17 and 18. The breakfast is amazing if you like fresh fruits. Internet is satisfactory as I have no problem using skype online call.

Hot doesn't begin to cover it!

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Location: Near tram stops and royal palace.
The hotel was fine for a three night stary. But the central air-conditioning, fine on the ground floor, didn't begin to tackle the heat in our third floor room during the hottest weather in Oslo for decades. What we thought was the AC control turned out to work the floor heating in the bathroom! The breakfasts were fine, but there is no dinner restaurant unless one is a member of a group and pre-booked.

Nice hotel, excellent location

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Great breakfast.
Location: Near to the park and lots of cafe culture
Stayed for one night after spending three nights near Oslo Sentral station. Location was much nicer and if staying in Oslo again would stay here.

Central location, small rooms

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Hotel is located centrally and is very close to all attractions. Breakfast was quite good. Rooms were clean. Staff quite pleasant. On route for the Flybussen so very convenient ride to and from the airport. No ramp on the front door so had to lift the big suitcases over steps. We were given top floor and ceilings were slanted and quite low - I banged my head couple of times. Standard rooms are very small. Good hotel for location and budget, but that's about it.

Nice hotel with very helpful staff, the room was a bit small and the bathroom was tiny, but I did not spend much time there anyway.

A good night's sleep

Situated on a quiet spot in the centre of Oslo the Rica Holberg provides a comfortable room and a really excellent breakfast buffet. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The building is fairly old but is well maintained and is clean, quiet and secure. Wifi is available free of charge in the rooms, as is coffee/tea making equipment. There is also a minibar. It may be helpful to know the entrance is up a couple of steps and there are approximately 2 more in the reception area before you reach the lift . There are plenty of restaurants/cafes to choose from in the neighbourhood and it's just a short walk to the shops, buses, T-bane, trains etc. I recommend this hotel and would be happy to visit it again sometime.

Oslo in a day

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Hotel was very close to the city centre and all the attractions but was away enough that you didn't get to much noise at night.
Location: City centre is close by and 5 min walk to the train station. Trams are near by aswell
Oslo is an underestimated place, I always thought of it as a dreary place. But I only had a day there and loved it. Lots of interesting architecture and cool pieces of art in hidden corners around the city. But a very expensive place Sincd Norway is one of the most expensive countries. Would recommend going there in the summer though.
