“Fantastic location”

The Rica Victoria sits right between the two main hubs of Oslo - a not even five-minute walk from both the harbor and Karl Johan's Gate. Unfortunately there was a torn-up lot across the street from the entrance that visually detracted from the immediate surroundings, but that paled in comparison to the convenience. I would absolutely stay there again. I had a small room that hadn't been upgraded like the ones pictured on the website, but it was still very clean and comfortable, and it had a street view that allowed me to open the window - a huge perk as I arrived in the middle of a killer July heat wave. The hotel's air conditioning could have been better - but that could have been said for the entire city that week! Norway doesn't deal well with mid-90's heat and humidity.

“Great location. comfortable room and outstanding breakfast”

This hotel is a winner. The location is perfect...midway between Aker's Brygge and Karl Johan's Gate. The breakfast was the best of the 5 hotels I visited on my trip in Norway. Hotel staff was very friendly and free internet access was available in the lobby. The bathroom was also quite roomy which is unusual in Norway. I would definitely stay at the Rica Victoria in Oslo again

“Good location and good for the price”

Hotel is located close to the center of Oslo, which is a great city, around the block of the main square. The single room was small, but well organized and clean. Staff was nice and helpful. Great breakfast room with wonderful breakfast buffet (way beyond what you find in US)included. Free internet access!

“Nice hotel in party central”

Nice, functional, friendly hotel right in the heart of everything. Oslo prices are INSANE so I was pleasantly surprised to find a hotel that is within walking distance of everything you want to see and is reasonably priced. If you want to see things that are further away (eg Munch museum), there is an excellent tram system (it seems to be based on the honor system as I bought tickets and never had them checked by a transit person... roll the bones!!). Rooms are small, but hey this is Europe, so get used to it. This was balanced by the excellent breakfast that is included in the price. You are advised to fill up big time as it is a HUGE mistake not to take advantage of free food in Oslo because if you do have a hearty breakfast then you only get to worry about the price of dinner and not lunch as well. If you dont understand why I keep going back to cost you need to understand that Oslo is known as the most expensive city in the world for very good reason - an average dinner for 2 can easily cost $150+, so not eating "free" food is just dumb. I liked the Rica Victoria a lot and would stay there again, but only during the week, as on a friday and saturday night the street the hotel is on is party central and you will not sleep until the fun ends (about 3-4am). I was woken by street partying on a saturday night at approx. 2pm and was unable to fall back to sleep (jetlag) so watched the fun on the street below for about an hour - very entertaining!

“Pleasant hotel and great location, center Oslo”

The Victoria hotel is located just off the main square in the center of Oslo and close to the habor area, the theater, and park. The center feels very safe, lots of restaurants close-by. The price for this quality hotel is great. The rooms are small (typical European), but the beds and bathrooms are good. Also, the hotel has an extensive, and very tasty, breakfast buffet that is beautifully located in a covered area in between buildings. The staff is very nice and helpful.

“A good stay for one day on Oslo”

Location is great, overall good service, breakfast is unbelievable (and offsets the price of the room, eating in Norway, as probably everything else is rather expansive. Easy way to airport: taxi, depending on the time of the day may be anywhere between $110 and $150. We took a bus on the way to the hotel, which was something like $30 a ticket, the buss stop is right around the corner; and an express train on our way back to the airport (5 min walk) which was even cheaper and faster (20 min). You may find a cheaper place to stay somewhere outside of the city center, but this was great accommodation for 3 people visiting Oslo for one day.

“Best oslo city centre location!”

This is my second time staying that the hotel. It is definitely a very good deal considering the location and high cost of living standards in oslo! Rooms are clean and decent with free internet access. Hotel is located just 5 mins walk to Aker Brygge, the shopping/dining area by the harbour, and also 5 mins walk to the main shopping area. I definitely recommend this hotel to others

The hotel is located very near to the main shopping street and in warking distance to other major tourist attractions. very convenient in a way..Lots of big groups of tourists, though. We are lucky to get a room. They can comfortably fit three beds in a room. Breakfast is not bad at all.
