OK, but some serious breakfast problems!

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast, parking price.
This hotel is well located in the heart of Oslo, close to almost all the good attractions. Rooms were OK too, so overall I'd say it was very promising. What was not acceptable is the long lines at breakfast. The hotel's breakfast hall is simply not big enough for this hotel, so you end up wandering around trying to find a seat, and then standing in line for food (e.g. if want a waffle, be ready to spend 20 min in line!). Food keeps running out, the staff are trying to catch up, but they simply can't. Besides, this hotel charges 325 NOK per night for the car parking. Really!?

We stayed three nights the second week in August. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Comfortable lobby. Excellent spread for breakfast. Very near to major sights in city. Hotel was quiet and neighborhood not noisy. Room was clean and comfortable; everything in good working order.

Nice and comfortable hotel, helpful staff

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: The consierge in the evening was extremely helpful and friendly when we discovered our room had not been properly re-stocked with bathroom items.
Cons: The cleaning staff had not properly set up our room. The place had been cleaned but some towels and bathroom items had not been replaced.
Location: Relatively close to the train station (15 min. walk) and very close to city centre (City Hall, harbour, etc. - about 5 min. walk).
The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The complementary breakfast provided was delicious with lots of variety. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Nice Hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: It was clean and the hotel was central. Not to far by taxi to the main train station.
Cons: The ironing room, could do with some hooks for hanging your ironed clothes on. Also the brown stained ironing board cover should be replaced.
Location: Lovely bars and resturants near by.
Overall this was a lovely hotel and i would stay there again. I was disappointed that the hotel do not have an iron or irning board that can be delivered to your room1 you have to go to the "ironing room" at the top of the hotel, just a small cupboard! However the staff were nice and the hotel was clean and central. i enjoyed my stay here.

Close to waterfront.

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Breakfast.
Cons: We called ahead asking for an early check because our flight arrived in the morning. They did not have a room ready.
Location: The location is fine, near waterfront and shopping.
The hotel is very small, both the lobby and our room. Best thing is the location, and breakfast.

Great Central Location

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Location: It's just a great area to have a walk and find hidden treasures.
Was only there for one night, but from the check in to check out almost everything ran smoothly. The only issue we has was the busy elevators in the morning when we were trying to leave with our suitcases. Had to carry them down 4 flights of stairs. They are doing a lot of work at the moment to upgrade this situation though so i won't hold it against them.

Good hotel in good location

Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Comfortable room with a good shower. Nice breakfast.
Cons: It would have been nice to check in when we arrived - 3 o'clock is a bit late - and it will be good when the lifts are finished.
Location: Restaurants along the port. Lots of museums and parks. Museums - Munch, Kon Tiki, Fram and Bymuseet. Botanical gardens and Vigeland Park.
The airport bus stopped about 5 mins walk away from the hotel. We arrived at 12ish but the room wasn't ready until 3, so we parked our bags in the luggage room and ventured into Olso. The port area was 5-10 mins walk from the hotel. Here were several good restaurants and the ferry to several good museums. The next day we discovered that we could have bought a 24-hour ticket covering all public transport, including that ferry. Using that ticket we visited the Munch Museum and botanical gardens in one direction, then crossed town to visit the Vigeland sculpture park and the (free) City Museum (Bymuseet). All really interesting. The hotel room was compact but comfortable, with a really good shower. Breakfast was nice, though not as nice as at the previous Rica hotel. The lifts were being developed, so a nightmare - we used the stairs. Overall, a really good experience.
