Nice hotel - would come again.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Overall the room was good, although a little smaller than expected. It was cleaned everyday (despite us leaving gone midday a few times). Hotel staff were amazing, very friendly and happy to help with anything. We were there in heat wave and found the room uncomfortably hot even with the "air con" set to 5 degrees. Pillows were also very soft for me but fine for my partner - the only 2 negatives I would say. Breakfasts were so good we didn't need lunch (fantastic considering oslo prices). It was very easy reach - tram 19 (and 13 although not the nearest stop) stop right down the road (2 minute walk). It's walking distance to the central bit (15 mins), especially if you go through the Royal Palace Gardens. I would recommend Olivia's, an amazing restaurant near by. Oh and one thing we did find out on the last night, the beer in the hotel bar was actually one of the cheapest going!!!! If you are there to visit attractions and travel on public transport get an oslo pass - saved us loads of money.

Nice boutique hotel in a residential area.Posted Jul 28, 2014
This off National Thearter train station is 10 minutes by Tram (13 n 19 off Rosenborg). About a block away from a local shopping street, where shops for locals n restaurants are. Hotel is simple but clean n most of all quiet.

Pros: Breakfast, room size. Very nicely decorated.
Location: Limited number of restaurants found the first night but more the second night. Might help if hotel offer a listing.
We stayed for 2 nights only. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great each morning! Rooms very nice, more spacious than usual European rooms.

Very nice hotelPosted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Clean and modern with good sized room.
A very nice hotel but about a 15-20 minute walk to the center and uphill walk back. A very clean modern hotel. Free parking in street outside hotel on a quiet street. Would definitely stay again.

Good hotel with easy access to town.Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: It is set in a quiet residential area of town, It is small and quite intimate and staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Lacking outdoor seating.
Cons: The rooms are comfortable, but ours was lacking in wardrobe space and particularly drawer space. A flat surface would be welcome for maps etc.
Location: The location is deceiving. It appears at first to be away from shops, but five minutes from hotel is a main road full of shops, delis and pubs.
Oslo is a beautiful city with many amenities which are easily accessible from this hotel. A very enjoyable week. Weekly inclusive passes to all transport, museums etc very worthwhile. These are available from Tourist Office in Oslo. Oslo is not as expensive as one is led to believe. Good value in restaurants, but avoid spirits! A walk ON the Opera House is recommended and the harbour area is very worthwhile. Don't miss the wonderful Vigeland Park or the Viking Ship Museum in Bygdoy. The Akershus Fortress is worth a visit, but be prepared for cobbles underfoot. There is a Flea Market close to the hotel on Saturday morning, and a good variety of shops just up the hill from the hotel. There is a post Office in the Railway station. A walk of about twenty minutes will take you through the park, past the Royal Palace, and straight into the centre of town. On the corner of the next street is a bike station - info. at Tourist Office

Good hotel in quiet locationPosted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Excellent breakfast! Quiet location. Staff mostly very helpful
Cons: Wifi log-in procedures over-complicated and we were only given 30 hrs before needing new code. Other hotels log in with name room number.
Location: Although the hotel seems away from the centre, most of the main attractions are walkable. The Royal Park and Vigeland Park both beautiful.
The Saga Hotel is small enough to feel homely. Room was clean and comfortable but pillows a little soft for my liking. The staff were helpful and efficient.

Quiet hotel very close to trams.Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: The breakfasts and the calm atmosphere.
Cons: There could have been a wider choice of fresh fruit for breakfast.
Location: The hotel is about 10-15 min walk from the Royal palace and on the no. 19 tram line to the centre of Oslo.
The atmosphere is calm. The staff are friendly and professional. The quality of the furnishings is excellent. The breakfasts are wonderful! Choice of scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, franks, wide range of cheeses, salads, great breads, cereals, creamy yoghurts all buffet style but plenty of space and calm - unlike some big hotels at breakfast! I was staying on my own and was on the fourth floor. The floor area was very large but because of the sloping ceilings, the useable space was much less, but still plenty. Very good bathroom.

Pros: cleanliness food staff location comfort price
Location: close to tram 19 and Royal Palace
the hotel was perfect for our stay. the breakkfast was a big enough selection to satisfy every taste and we were able to skip lunch when we were out sightseeing. the only drawback was the lack of a good cup of coffee the whole time we were in oslo including the saga hotel. perfect location for our needs,.staff friendly. we will return

Late Night ArrivalPosted Jun 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
We arrived at the hotel late. We were greeted nicely and provided with the WIFI access information and parking information. After getting to our room we hurried down to the reception requesting a place to eat in the area. We were told that an Italian place nearby would be suitable if we hurry. So, we nearly ran about 4 blocks and they refused us due to it being late. When we returned with our meal from another place, our card did not work and we have to ask reception to reissue the card. No one was at reception for over ten minutes. Another guest arrived and was upset as well. I finished my meal in the lobby and my husband was fuming about having to wait to get into our room after our long drive into town. Other than that, our room was clean, had a great design, provided us with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We slept well and had breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was standard and good. The location of the hotel was in a residential neighborhood and would have been difficult to find had we not had a GPS. This is also good because it was safe. We were able to stay parked until we were ready to leave, which was realty nice.

Great value in a lovely, convenient location.Posted May 22, 2014
Location: Near the palace and National Theater, in Frogner (best area)
In super-pricey Oslo, Saga Hotel was a standout value. Immaculate, stylish, comfortable and friendly. Great breakfast buffet, included, saves you at least one restaurant meal - important at Oslo prices!o
