cONVENIENT BUT TIRED HOTEL

Convenient location for downtown Oslo but the hotel is showing its age. Pleasant enough staff; free email and breakfast is a plus

Great Price and Location, Staff Helpful
Posted Jan 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
I was expecting a small room (reserved 2 twin beds), and was surprised to find we had basically two rooms connected together so we had more space than we needed and the bathroom was newly remodeled. The gym was very well equipped and clean. The hotel is in an older building but maintained well. Easy access by bus, tram or walking. If you want a five star hotel, this is not one so don't expect it to be; but I would give it a solid 3 stars. Also, the breakfast buffet was included with the price of our room and was huge; everything from fresh fruit and breads to potatoes and eggs. The staff was very helpful and the free internet a plus.

Tiny OverPriced Rooms/Poor Customer Service
Posted Jan 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was severely overpriced for the accomodations offered. The Internet would disappear in the middle of crucial work and reconnections numbered over 20 per day for my entire stay. The breakfast was included and the hours were great but beyond this the accomodations were not in line with the price. The rooms were very tiny and the furniture was aged. The hotel interior needs upgrading as well and Customer Service was lacking in professionalism. In one instance I was completely overlooked as the Customer Service person waited on others standing behind me. As it were one of the customers spoke up and insisted that I was before her and made the Desk Agent respond to my question.

Nice Breakfast, Clean, Quiet, Small Rooms
Posted Jan 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great service, clean rooms, very nice buffet breakfast (a lot better than Norwegian standard of cold cuts). Room was small, long and narrow though. OK for flying business trip but for a longer stay I'd look for something bigger. Walking distance from Nationaltheater station, businesses in Vikka / SW of city.

good value for money, the only thing in Oslo that is!
Posted Jan 23, 2010
Eh, it's a small walk to the Ibsen Museum, near the National Theatre station (make sure to exit out the dram. way). I love that the have a 24 hour gym and the breakfast is amazing. But it was noisy and we were on the highest floor. They were very helpful and could answer any questions. I would recommend the Oslo card!

Not bad, not great
Posted Jan 8, 2010 on Hotels.com
First off - if you need to go to the US Embassy, stay here. It couldn't be more convenient. What was good: At reception, we were allowed a fairly late checkout, which was very helpful. Also, the breakfast was what I expect from a Scandinavian hotel - which is to say it was very good. What was bad: The parking garage was tiny and cramped, and certainly not cheap. We paid for a "Superior" sized room, but that was basically a joke. The staff was nice, but not especially helpful (except for the late checkout - and I think that counts for a lot.) They did not generally know where things were in the neighborhood around the hotel. Still, my only real complaint was that the hotel wasn't in great condition. It could use a little more maintenance. Our room lacked a trash can and only had one of two shower doors. It did not feel especially clean.
