“Lovely hotel, centrally located, perfect for the bus/train station.”

The hotel itself was perfect. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, good facilities and the staff were extremely helpful. As far as the location goes, it was great for getting the bus/train, and spot on for getting around the city, but the surrounding area obviously has a problem with drugs and gangs, as someone tried to sell us cocaine outside the hotel and we saw a massive fight on our first day there! That's not the hotel's fault though.

“A perfect base to expolore Oslo”

The Thon Hotel Spectrum may be a "budget" hotel, but let's face it; Scandinavian budget is a world away from anyone elses! Clean lines, underfloor heating, mattress toppers, courteous staff, blackout curtains. Yes it was basic, but on a city break what more is required? The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower was powerful (and the "wetroom"-style of bathroom means not having to worry about flooding it!), and the room was spotless. The location was perfect - 5 mins from the Bus Terminal and Centralstasjon. There is a tram stop at the end of the streeyt, with excellent links to the rest of the city, but Oslo is a fairly compact place anyway, so you could easily walk anywhere from the hotel. I would definately recommend staying here!

“Excellent Value Hotel”

me and my mom stayed here on a 3 day trip to Oslo and were thoroughly impressed. When we got to the hotel (which was very easy to find from bus station where we were dropped off - ten min walk) we discovered that we had been put in a double room. we went to reception to explain that we had asked for a twin room and they were very good about changing our room for us. very friendly and helpful reception staff and the hotel is well located within easy walking distance of everything you need. Also, there are decent pubs on the same street as the hotel where they show the football and the beer works out at approx 4 pounds for half a litre - cheapest we found in Oslo! bonus!

“A Great Budget Hotel in a Fantastic Location”

Thon Hotel Spectrum is conveniently located near the central train station, Karl Johan's Gate, and lots of bars and restaurants. The hotel is on a pedestrian mall and there is a great, super cheap falafel place just a few doors down on the other side of the street. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. There is free internet in the lobby.

“Good Enough”

The Thon Spectrum is a good place to stay for the smart traveler. If you want a palace go somewhere else. But, if you want a good, inexpensive, clean hotel with a good location to explore Oslo, the Thon is the place for you. I enjoyed my stay there.

“Too loud to sleep!”

The hotel is great but the location is great in the daytime but at night the party people hang out at the local pubs (which are many) and sing the night away. The pubs stay open until 3am. So, forget sleep until at least 3:30am and there is nothing the hotel staff can do to stop it. It is a shame since the hotel is great. They are very big on the nightlife in that part of town.

“Great Hotel for the Right Price”

Nice hotel room. Very clean. Get the breakfast included in your deal – it's worth it. It's loud on the side facing the street, but anyone from a big city will be able to tune it out.

“Low cost...High quality”

The hotel is clean and the staff are helpful. There were many children and teenagers in the lobby but mostly waiting to use the one internet computer. Very good location...

“ask for quiet side”

The frist nigth our room was on the street side and the people party outside all night, we never got to sleep until around 4 am. The second night we ask for a different room and it was quieter.

“Good location”

This hotel was reasonably priced, close to everything, especially the bus station for airport transfer. I would choose this hotel again.
