"close to beach shore line and train station convie"
The staff was so accomodating as we asked to be moved to a room that had two double beds with balcony that made our trip so special. The staff helped us find places in town regarding a computer outlet store to send an e-mail and helped with internatinal package to find a box and where to drop off package. Every day they would asked us how was our day with a friendly smile so comforting with breakfast coupons to be used at caffe downstairs in front of hotel. La Dolce Sosta in Sorreno Italy is a gem in the raw so beautiful. I will be back to La Dolce Sosta to stay again ...

"Last 2 days in Italy"
We wanted to be near airport so did some looking on expedia saw the "Hotel La Scaletta" and read its reviews we booked a room with a view to the coast, must say we were very impressed staff went out their way to assist with any enquiries and they even arranged a shuttle at 15 euros each to airport. Even though room had air conditioning we shut it down and enjoyed the sea breeze.

"There's a party just outside the door!"
Really, there is a party in the green area just in front of the hotel, and it's loud. This is great if you are in it, but if you want to sleep before 3 am, ask for a room in the rear of the hotel. The hotel was very willing to change my room for me, but unfortunately, they only had a tiny room with a single bed left, so I opted to stay where I was and suffered through it. The bed and pillows were hard, and I prefer soft, but this isn't a complaint, just a matter of personal preference. The floors are concrete as someone else mentioned, but given the amount of sand that is dragged back, can't blame them for this. The decor was very cute and beachy in the room. The common areas could use an update. In my opinion, this hotel is a good destination for young people who come to the shore for a party weekend. For more mature guests, a little more comfort and quiet would be better.

"Perfect for both Rome and the beach."
Fantastic place to see Rome and the beach with a great pool to relax in after sight seeing. The pool could stay open a bit later than 6:00. The staff gave my daughter a birthday card with some free treats which was a lovely touch. The restaurant was great as was the shop. We would definitely recommend this place.

Pocket Guide: Rome Ostia Independent Romantic Hotels

Lying 31 kilometres southwest of Rome, Lido di Ostia this is Rome’s seafront. Most of the busy beach is privatised, so there is a surcharge for use and loungers and parasols. The jewel of the area is nearby Ostia Antica. The architectural site gives a fascinating insight into the everyday life of sailors, merchants and slaves dating to the fourth century B.C. It later became Ancient Rome’s port for 600 years.
