We had a very good experience with our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, with most of staff speaking very good English. The hotel was very quiet and our room overlooking the sea was quiet and clean. The view from our room was beautiful and very relaxing. During our stay, we requested that the staff order us a taxi, once to visit a shopping mall about 20 minutes away and once for departure to the airport. On both occasions, the taxis ordered charged exorbitant rates, much higher than the taxi that provided return service to the hotel from the mall. Although this may have been normal, it did make one wonder if there might have been some connections between the taxi service and the hotel staff.

Newish hotel, pleasant and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms. Nothing to be done about the location, which is nice enough and on a main route, although the journey to the centre of Rome takes around an hour, hour and a quarter depending on waits for buses and trains. Close to a market and gelaterias, etc. A good hotel if you want good value, even if it is a remove from the sights. Ostia is about a half hour away by bus.

"Very nice hotel, close to to the beach/amenities."
Nice little hotel, relatively easy to get to by COTRAL bus (30 minutes) from Da Vinci airport. There is no fancy lobby or other amenities and the rooms are relatively small. But it is very clean and the staff is extremely helpful. It is close a many restaurants, coffee shops and bars. The beach is right across the street. Overall, it is a very good value for the money.

I chose this hotel for its closeness to Fiumiicino Airport in Rome. The room was clean and comfortable. Not large, but adequate for a few day stay. The front desk person was amazingly helpful and pleasant. The housekeeping staff was great in changing the king bed to two twins. They provided secure parking without extra charge. They offered free WiFi. Restaurants were nearby as was the beach.
I appreciate clean and comfortable and don't need a four or five star rating. La Riva satisfied my requirements. The hotel provided a tasty and adequate breakfast. I would definitely stay there again if I ever considered a return trip to Rome.
I doubt that I will ever return to Rome. It was unbelievably crowded, expensive and unpleasant. If one enjoys spending untold hours with 5000 of your closest friends, Rome is the place to go. If not, there are many other places to visit.
I lived in Europe for six years and traveled most of the continent. La Riva was a very pleasant stay in comparison to many others over the years.

You have 3 star hotels that are a disaster and others that should be 4 star.
This is neither but it is:
Opposite the sea
Nice helpful staff
I would stay there again (and I'm fussy)

Lying 31 kilometres southwest of Rome, Lido di Ostia this is Rome’s seafront. Most of the busy beach is privatised, so there is a surcharge for use and loungers and parasols. The jewel of the area is nearby Ostia Antica. The architectural site gives a fascinating insight into the everyday life of sailors, merchants and slaves dating to the fourth century B.C. It later became Ancient Rome’s port for 600 years.
