"Great Place To Stay...Not Best Location"
A great place to stay - clean, fairly well maintained, and super friendly/helpful staff. Only downside is being located in the middle of now where...so as long as you have a vehicle or are prepared to use transit (which is decent) it is a great place to stay.

"Great hotel, location? YMMV"
We used Expedia's "pot luck" option that picked this hotel as an "airport hotel" for our last night in Italy before flying back from Fiumicino airport in the following morning. The price was quote good at $68.55v plus the 2 euro/person city tax. So it was a very good price. However, it was a 45 euro cab ride from Termini Station in Rome to get there. Good service, large American style hotel suite. Very clean and comfortable. It turned out to not really be an "airport hotel" as we needed a 40 euro private car to drive 16 km get us to the Fiumicino in the morning. We could have stayed near Termini and saved the wasted cab fare. Not as convenient as Expedia claimed. So my only beef is the location. It's not really an airport hotel. But is a very nice, clean, roomy and comfy hotel

"There's a party just outside the door!"
Really, there is a party in the green area just in front of the hotel, and it's loud. This is great if you are in it, but if you want to sleep before 3 am, ask for a room in the rear of the hotel. The hotel was very willing to change my room for me, but unfortunately, they only had a tiny room with a single bed left, so I opted to stay where I was and suffered through it. The bed and pillows were hard, and I prefer soft, but this isn't a complaint, just a matter of personal preference. The floors are concrete as someone else mentioned, but given the amount of sand that is dragged back, can't blame them for this. The decor was very cute and beachy in the room. The common areas could use an update. In my opinion, this hotel is a good destination for young people who come to the shore for a party weekend. For more mature guests, a little more comfort and quiet would be better.

"A great place to stay!!!"
Advice for potential hotel guests! Take advantage of the breakfast buffet & the shuttle to the Metro Station - it will save you lots of Euros!!! Also very convinent the 709 bus that drops you of right in front of the hotel. The pizza shop around the corner is a must for anyone who stays at the Aris Hotel! There is also a deli/bar & tabacco shop (the only place to buy postage stamps) that are in the same shopping area with a postal drop off just in case you want to send some postcards!! I really liked the staff very laid back -- they were not overzealous -- which is something I liked (other guest did not feel the same way). I would definately stay here again!!

"A serendipitous experience in Rome (Ostia da Lido)"
What a pleasant experience we had at the Hotel Belvedere. This hotel is close to the metro link to Rome. It is also about a 100 yards from the Tyrhennian Sea. A great view from our room. Downstairs was a busy little restaurant/bar that was actually a micro brewery of beer. Rather unusual for Italy but we loved what they were making. The hotel also had a ton of pretty marble. The room was rather small but we found out later it was larger than most European hotel rooms. It had a great bathroom and was all we really needed. The staff was quite friendly and almost always spoke English well. We highly recommend this hotel. It is a budget friendly option to staying in Rome. There are also a lot of nice restaurants in and around Ostia and the neighboring town of Fiumicino ( where the Leonardo da Vinci airport is located). It is only about a 10 minute cab ride from the airport. There are also incredible ruins at Ostia Antica, adjacent to Ostia. All in all we would definitely stay here again.

    Ostia, Rome Hotel Guide

Lying 31 kilometres southwest of Rome, Lido di Ostia this is Rome’s seafront. Most of the busy beach is privatised, so there is a surcharge for use and loungers and parasols. The jewel of the area is nearby Ostia Antica. The architectural site gives a fascinating insight into the everyday life of sailors, merchants and slaves dating to the fourth century B.C. It later became Ancient Rome’s port for 600 years.
