Berlin, the capital of Germany, is 85 miles (137 kilometers) northeast of Ostrau.
Ostrau is not the only place in Saxony worth seeing; visitors can also set out to see the unique qualities of the surrounding countryside, cities and towns. Head 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest to Delitzsch, where you can visit the Delitzsch City Park and Delitzsch Castle.
Approximately 8 miles (13 kilometers) to the south of Ostrau is Halle an der Saale, an important regional center where you'll find Marktkirche, Handel Monument and Maya Mare. Make sure you don't head back to Ostrau until you've spent a little time at Halle an der Saale's Halle Opera House, Botanischer Garten and Spielbank Sachsen-Anhalt.
Saxony has an interesting religious history; so take the time to visit the area's most important cathedrals. For a glimpse of local culture, make a beeline for Saxony's art galleries and history museums.
If you are seeking a completely different activity to enjoy in Saxony, have a go at sky diving. Get outside and get active in the area around Ostrau. Try your hand at hiking or give mountain climbing a try.
As the sun sets on your adventures, spend your last euros on last-minute mementos and bid a fond Tschüss (farewell) to the friends you've made and the landscapes you've seen.
