Hotel stay

Posted Jul 26, 2014
We stayed at brook street hotel in July 2014. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very nice. The room and grounds were clean. Our room overlooked the pool and golf course. The beds were comfortable. My only negative was if you book through Expedia you have to pay for parking extra it is not included with your room. Being that my husband and I met at the hotel in two seperate cars we were not happy to hear we had to pay $15 for each car.

Great hotel for families

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Both kids loved the jazz in the hotel lounge at night.
Cons: Be patient with the keyed systems -especially the elevator- great for safety but takes some getting used to.
Location: Near bike path and 417 that takes you everywhere is Ottawa.
Had a great long weekend at Brookstreet. The place is great if you have kids ( 7-17)- though they have a nice pool splash pad for little ones. Free bikes- free wifi- games room indoor-and planned activities ( crafts, games, campfires) Love that my husband and I could sit and enjoy the patio overlooking the golf course while the kids were right there in the outdoor pool. And it welcomes dogs- lost of great areas to take them for a walk. Restaurants are expensive- but there are plenty of other choices within a short drive or bike ride- or great paths to go for walk.

Gorgeous!

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The room view
Cons: Free parking
Location: Not much around except a golf course.
My gf and me were there to spend a relaxing week-end. The room and hotel are super clean. They have a nice jazz bar with live band. I loved the view on the Outaouais mountains and how sunny the room was. King size bed is super comfy. Only thing that bothered me was the paying garage parking (12$) especially there is no mention of that when you book. Also, it is a bit far from Ottawa downtown.

Stay-cation

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: Continental breakfast or something like that.
We live half hour away from Brookstreet but the price was fantastic. Comfort level was outstanding. Staff were very friendly. Will stay there again and would recommend to anyone...

SHUTS down early

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: The comfortable beds
Cons: More information in the hotel rooms regarding the hotel amenities and nearby restaurants or attractions, things to see or do.
Location: If you have a vehicle the location would be acceptable. There was no information available on anything nearby or things to do.
Unfortunately the restaurant AND bar both close early, so if you are arriving late, bring your own meal. I also found it strange that there was no information in the hotel room regarding the hotel itself (available amenities) , or anything nearby i.e. things to see or do, places to eat etc. I had also requested no feather pillows due to allergies and that was not addressed. This hotel is not in a convenient location to get to anywhere if you have to use a taxi or public transit. Otherwise the staff was friendly for the most part and helpful. Very comfy beds. I suspect this hotel is only used for business travellers.

Nice Hotel, but in an industrial area.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
We loved the room and very comfortable bed. We did not get much use of the hotel amenities, but the next time we stay we will. We were in town visiting a sick relative. Only slept at the hotel. But beautiful hotel.

Brookfield, an excellent get-away with the family

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: The Lay-out of the swimming pool, the beautiful Golf course and the excellent music in the Jazz bar.
Cons: There seems be a glitch in the controls of the underground parking facility.
Location: Bayshore Mall is a nice place to visit for some Ottawa Style Shopping. The Boat club is also less than 15 minutes drive away.
Right from check-in, we were welcome with the charming smiles of the receptionists. I arrived hours before the official check-in time, but the staff ensured that a room was immediately made available for my entire family. This was a great relief, as the kids were visibly tired after two long flights. We were pleased to discover that there were lots of fun activities for the kids during our stay. We were able to take advantage of these and the stay was indeed pleasant.

Nice hotel if you have to visit Kanata business corridor. It is mostly a high-tech area.
