Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Stayed here from September 7th to the 14th. Staff were very friendly. In fact they had excellent service regarding parking. They parked the car for me each day and in turn went to retrieve it when needed with very little wait. I will say however, there are 2 elevators and they are very slow. Loved having a balcony. I found it was pretty quiet despite being over Albert street with all the buses etc. Bed was comfortable however, tv didn't work properly. So if anyone is staying in room 1009, the tv will work for about half an hour, then it gets distorted and unwatchable. At any rate, I would stay there again!

Good Hotel for Parliament and Byward Market

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Reception staff, parking, and proximity to downtown
Cons: Plumbing maintenance and housekeeping.
Location: Sited where the major Parliament Hill events and some Museums are in easy reach on foot.
We had a two day stay over Thu Fri. nights. Valet service for the car was excellent. The room was showing some wear especially in the bath. The bed was poorly made, the coffee pot not cleaned and no replacement of coffee supplies. Towels were replaced when they had been hung up after day one to be available for reuse. Reception staff were excellent.

Conveniently located

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Decent hotel at a reasonable cost.
Cons: Parking space is too limited. Would be nice to have restaurant/ bar on premises.
Location: Hotel is conveniently located close to parliament buildings and a short walk to the Byward market. Short taxi ride to most other tourist attractions.
Decent hotel for sightseeing or short trips to Ottawa. Staff were friendly. Room was comfortable but with small bathroom. Parking space is limited so they keep yor keys so they can double park and shuffle vehicles around all the time. They don't have a restaurant or shuttle service but everything is very close by. Tour buses full of travellers came in every night causing long line ups for the elevators which are small and slow.

Great location

Posted Sep 21, 2014
This hotel needs a few upgrades, yes it is a bit older but still convenient and somewhat comfortable. I arrived very early in the morning and knew my room would not be ready yet, but asked the very nice clerk if I could leave my baggage there and take off for breakfast and sightseeing for a few hours, no problem. When I returned in the late afternoon the clerk checked me in, gave me my bag and away I went. First thing getting in an elevator with another couple going on the same floor that would not take us there, they mentioned that this had happens the day before too, get in the other elevator. Get to my room key doesn't work, and some kind of smeer of something was on the door, go back downstairs where they gave me a new room, new floor. I was happy they upgraded me to a better room as my sister was coming in a few days later. Now the room is outdated a bit, the beds were to hard (for my liking), and the bathroom needs to be changed (sink damaged, toilet makes strange noise, loose and in a strange location). Great location to all the museums, Parliament, shopping, restaurants etc.

Convenient and they have balconies

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Simple. Basic. Clean. It's in the heart of downtown Ottawa and close to everything. It's not fancy but it's all you need. Nice to have balconies off the rooms for fresh air. Would stay again.

Good location rest needs work

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Good location, decent and helpful staff. But the hotel needs work. Old elevators, poor wifi in room,Ragged carpets. One expects more if you are paying more than 100 dollars a night!

You may want to make it more clear that people are booking a hotel in a seniors lodge.
