Not to shabby..but..Not great.

Posted Jul 27, 2014
The hotel pool was absolutely over run by kids everyday and night ( and we stayed for an entire week ).. The front desk staff were ok with us but I overhead them interacting with other guests and management on a very unprofessional and condescending level on several occasions. Upon checking out I wasn't even asked if I enjoyed my stay at the hotel or in Ottawa. Another let down was the hot breakfast which didn't include any meat. On the plus side the hotel was clean and in a great location which was close to downtown and in a district with a major mall and many restaurants. The hotel was quiet and the housekeeping was very accommodating. Another great touch was the cozy bath robes and in room Keurig.

Chimo Hotel is past its best before date and is looking a little tired. Clean enough but tired.

Decent hotel.

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The hotel was close to downtown and near a shopping Centre.
Location: Location was great. However, there was quite a bit of road construction so it took a little bit extra time getting to downtown.
The experience was ok. Breakfast was good. Business area off the lobby was convenient for printing tickets.

Great location for touring the city of Ottawa

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: We had a wonderful room on the tenth floor overlooking the city. It was a very spacious room and very comfortable. The free breakfast was great!
Cons: We would have like a microwave
Location: We did the city Hop-on Hop-off city tour which we really enjoyed.
We had a wonderful 2 nights at the Chimo while we tour the city. The location was excellent. The room was very clean, very spacious and very comfortable.

Excellent location by car, abundant parking, quiet

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Quiet and location.
Cons: TV sound could be set a tad louder, volume much to low to hear news properly.
Location: Easy freeway access, shopping mall across the street, good restaurants nearby.
Nice free breakfast buffet, affordable room rates. I would definitely stay there again.

Great Value for the cost!

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The price and location.
Cons: Some newer modern furniture in the rooms. Having to work from the desk, the chair provided was very uncomfortable.
Location: Lone star is right new door. Across the street is a giant mall.
The pub downstairs had excellent food. The rooms were big and spacious although the furniture was a little dated.

Poor housekeeping!

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: Cleanliness
The front desk staff were great! Very obliging! Housekeeping took all our towels and bedding while we were at breakfast and had not checked out yet before 9 AM! The shower was full of mold! I reported this to front desk! Carpets were filthy! The rooms need cleaning desperately!

Ask the chamber maid for a least one extra hand towel (we were two guest) she said yes but never gave it during our two nights stay. Never clean the bath tub. breakfast was OK but seating is limited.

Declining hotel with steadily cheapened service

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Not much
Cons: WiFi could almost reach dial-up speeds.
Location: Highway out of town was nearby
Hotel is old, desk staff didn't care about problems, restaurant used to be ok, now a free for all breakfast in both senses of the phrase.
