Well it is a good value overall. Staff was very nice, room was considerably clean, everything was in working condition. But i had issues with check out. When i booked it said 3pm checkout, but when i reached there it was 12 noon check out.

We always enjoy our stay at the Holiday Inn Ottawa East. The staff are great - especially the restaurant staff. The beds are so comfortable that we tried to find out how we could buy one for our home (we failed). The only tiny thing is the front sidewalk covered in cigarette buts from the slobs who would not use the receptacle the hotel provided.

The property is not well maintained. One elevator was perpetually out of order. They dont provide water in the rooms, nor do they inform you of that when you are checking in. So if you are driving down for 4-5 hrs...make sure to ask for water bottles while checking in. Otherwise youll have to make a trip downstairs all the way to the lobby to get water. They dont even have service to g8ve it you in your room. The room phone is for decoration, noone picks up when you call reception regardless of the time of day. Cleanliness of the washroom was bare minimum considering it is supposed to be an IHG accredited hotel. Breakfast again is quite rudimentary, same everyday. Given the other Holiday Inns I've stayed over the years, this one is the least impressive.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. Check-in was quick and the staff was courteous. My room was spacious and clean. The hotel is within walking distance to a restaurant and to the mall. It is also a short drive to the hospital. I enjoyed my stay and will be going back.

Stayed for a week for work. Breakfast is the same every day and overpriced for what you get. Supper is a little creepy in a large empty room. Heating system is loud and blows a strong current of air against your face. No pen, paper, or even hotel info brochure in the room. Nothing to do around the hotel. Serves the purpose if all you need is to sleep. Safe was a good touch.

It’s the second time I’ve stayed here. Everything is amazing but the staff have made us feel unwelcome both times. We tried a second time hoping it was a fluke but now as much as we love the hotel the location and the pool we likely won’t come back.

Very nice staff and room very clean. Actually very impressed with bathroom lighting (women would understand). The only downside was there was very limited parking available due to snow banks otherwise very satisfied and would recommend.

The breakfast was ok, it was cold even if we went early. In my opinion, this kind of breakfast wasn’t worth 20$/person. We were asked if we were with the hockey team when we checked in, i said no. We were put on the same floor as them regardless. My 8 y.o daughter had a really big competition really early in the morning , and we couldn’t sleep as there were people running and screaming in the hallway on the same floor, and the above floor as well, until about midnight. They did send security up at 10:15, but when then came, people headed over to the pool, and the yelling started again at 11:30.. not sound proof at all. I would recommend they put the teams on the same floors, and also they offer teams one of the possibility to use a conference rooms for the parents to chat and kids to run around.. it’s not the hotel’s fault. Other than that, the comfort of the beds and pillows were ok,

The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The location was fantastic for distance to food, shopping and the hockey rink. The pool was ok; the air was hazy and visibility was low and it wasn’t very warm in the pool or the pool area. Otherwise it was good.

Bad #1: We booked this property specifically for the indoor pool (we had previously booked a different hotel, only to find out the pool was closed, so we cancelled and booked here). The day we are driving in for our reservation, I receive aessage from the hotel saying their pool is closed. Not happy, but stuff happens - I get it. When I arrive to check in, I asked them about the pool just to make sure. They confirmed it's been closed for at least 2 weeks! Now I'm angry. I ask them why did I only receive a message the day of check in? They should have been up front right away. Person at the front desk didn't have an answer. I asked if we could be transferred to a different IHG hotel (I was willing to travel at least 25 kilometers in either direction), and they told me they aren't connected to the other IHG hotels and the reservation is non-transferrable. She then said that because I had booked through Expedia, I'd have to go through them for any complaints (keep in mind, we were a late check in at 10pm...). The good #1: They comped us breakfast. The bad#2: When we turned the shower on, the drain backed up ad bugs floated out. Disgusting, but manageable - so I scooped out the bugs, but couldn't fix the drain so it filled to about 2 inches and took about an hour to fully drain post shower. The good #2: My kids forgot to pack their toothbrushes, but the front desk gave us disposables. The bad #3: When we went to check out they tried to charge us for the comped breakfast!

Nice hotel. A few tweaks would be nice.
A nice hotel. High floor room was nice. The bed was however very squeeky - like the springs are old. Housekeepers vaccuuming at 8am in the hallway wasnt ideal eiither.
