Close to U of Ottawa

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The location was excellent - close to U of Ottawa and Parliament buildings and the Rideau Canal.
Cons: The fan didn't work in the bathroom.
Location: Walking distance to Elgin Street that offers lots of restaurants and pubs. Close to everything you want to see in the downtown area.
This hotel is nice and clean, close to U of Ottawa (just across a pedestrian bridge) and the Rideau canal, and in an area with lots going on with a variety of restaurants and pubs around. It's close to the Parliament buildings too which are a short walk away. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly and stopped a noisy party with loud music, precisely at 11:00 pm which was appreciated! I would definitely go back since it is economical and adequate for our needs when visiting the University.

Good location, clean, great staff.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Smaller shelf over sink, include breakfast.
Location: Parliament buildings, Rideau canal, shopping center 10 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants on nearby street.
Hotel was a bit old but overall well kept and reasonably clean. We needed a room with two beds for us and two teens, but by the time we arrived early evening, these rooms were not available. Staff was well-prepared and already had a plan in place to give us two rooms for same price, which worked for us. Staff were all really nice giving us lots of good info on sight-seeing. Location to main sight-seeing areas, Parliament buildings, Rideau canal etc. was excellent with a short walk. Neighborhood was clean and safe, lots of small restaurants around to walk to. The room and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated with a very large closet. Shelf over sink made it difficult to lean over sink to wash. Hairdryer in bathroom. No breakfast included.

Good Hotel close to Downtown Ottawa

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The room was large and airy, the beds very comfortable
Cons: Cut out the parking charge
Location: Excellent downtown location, most things of interest within close walking distance.
We had a pleasant stay in this Hotel, the only drawback was the extra car parking charge. It was very close to the Government buildings on Parliament Hill , the staff were helpful and the cleaners dis a very good job.

Great location and value for money

You can't beat this hotel for location (walking distance to Parliament buildings, Chateau Laurier, etc.) , amenities ( roomy suite with kitchen and living space) , and price. We would stay here again should we return to Ottawa.

Vacation in Ottawa

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: location near Parliament and museums, kitchenette and balcony, quiet
Cons: The parking situation is hard to change, but guest have to deal with it.
Two days in Ottawa on vacation. Embassy is close to sights, as well as restaurants. Quiet neighborhood, near residential area. Parking is a bit of a problem - we had to park on the street the first night, but the desk staff accomodated us with a spot early the next morning. We appreciated their friendly helpfulness.

Not a three star hotel?

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything needs improvement except for the size of the room.
Location: The location was not bad.
Upon check in we got a smokers room with outdated furniture, my doughter said it was like an old ladies house. We then got moved to another room that did not smell like a smokers room, however it was just as old and the beds were very outdated, including the bedding. Let's say that it was not cheap either. We did not even have parking available to us.

convinient location, a bit outdated

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: location, kitchenette
Cons: bath sink and shelf above it
The hotel is very conviniently located with short walks to Parliament Hill, Bymarket etc. Room is big and it had nice feature: kitchenette with basics. Hotel is a bit on the old side, but beds and carpet are new, so it was a nice place to stay for our famlily of 4.

great location, bad smells

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Cons: the male employees look angry all the time.
Hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. huge turn off. Other than that the stay was fine. Bathroom shelf and sink are really close together so you have to make sure not to bump your head. For the price though it was a great stay. Make sure to reserve parking before you arrive though.
