Awesome hotel next to market

Posted Apr 15, 2014
LOVE this hotel! Close to the market that has tons of activities going on. Plenty of restaurants and shops. All within walking distance. Area felt completely safe and with beautiful surroundings. The room was comfy and I loved the tub in the bathroom! I will stay again!!!

The Lap of Luxury

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly and courteous, beds and rooms luxuriously comfortable, location to downtown sites outstanding.
Cons: Wi-fi should be offered free since it is probably not an extra cost to the hotel.
Location: Walking distance to Parliament Buildings, Byward Market, Rideau Center, we even walked across the bridge to the Museum of Civilization.
We enjoyed so much the comfort and luxury of our stay the first weekend in April. The best part was the special rate offered through Expedia that made it possible for us. I would like to know of special promotion discounts year round.

The Best of the Best

Queen Elizabeth stayed here. The opulence of the bygone era is fortified by brand new remodeling on some of the floors. Stunning room remodels. Expedia gave me outstanding rates. I opted for cheaper self-park which includes unlimited in/out privileges until 5 PM of the day of departure. Be sure to sign up for free hotel membership which gives you perks like free wifi. The location is BEYOND IDEAL.

A couple of days at the Chateau Laurier, Ottawa

Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: The hotel was clean and well looked after despite its age. Access from the parking garage to the hotel was easy despite the winter weather
Cons: No suggestions
Location: The hotel is well situated with easy access to Ottawa sights, museums, shops, old quarter etc.
Nearly everything about the stay was satisfactory invluding breakfast in the room which was a welcome luxury. The room was raher small but quite adeqjate, with a view on the parliament hill complex. The only problem we had.was with the bed - very hnigh which was difficult for a partially handicapped person.

At the start of the Canal

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: The history, the limestone, the architecture. What's not to like.
Cons: The shower was lame. My bathroom was like sandpaper.
Location: Parliment Buildings, Canal, bunch of museums, lots of tourist items.
A beautiful cold Sunny day in Ottawa at a classic hotel. It was great to go skating and retire to the comfort of my own room.

Personal palace for a long weekend.

Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. Warm on very cold nights. Full service.
Cons: Walk to room was down a long but well carpeted hallway. Huge place, takes some time to get around.
Location: Perfect location. Great views of Parliament buildings, Rideau Canal and river from many rooms. Near major stores and old town shops and restaurants.
Excellent stay from beginning 'til end. Old World splendor not far from New York (seven or eight hours drive from NYC). Room was capacious, very comfortable and well decorated with a small writing room in a three-windowed turret off the main room. Paid $149. through Expedia, which was very fair for this room. Parking was additional and pricey at $28. a night.
