It was great. Nice staff and a nice place to stay. Right near the Walk of the City. Lots of restaurants and shops across the street as well as an Empire movie theatre. Free parking was great as well as the internet. The restaurant inside was also really good. Great food and staff.

Helpful staff when all else failed!
I got locked out of my running rental vehicle through no fault of my own. I got out to brush some snow off the vehicle & it locked as I closed the door. The problems were several: 15-20 cm of snow overnight in Ottawa, National's roadside response was 600 minutes, my flight was leaving in 3 hrs., I was trying to say good-bye to an ill 98 yr. old aunt before I departed & I was 35 minutes from the airport. No one appeared to care at National & nor were they able to provide any kind of resolution for my dilemma & I was frantic! Their roadside assistance was located in Florida & the person had no idea where Ontario was, couldn't spell it & had no idea the kind of issues that 15-20 cms of snow create. Lana at the hotel desk, assisted by her partner Christine, called CAA & asked for emergency service. A technician arrived within 20 minutes, opened my door & I was on my way - able to say good bye to my dear aunt & make my flight to Edmonton. I will be forever grateful to these two young women. They were kind & helpful in spite of the fact that I was past being rationale! They went above & beyond my expectations & I will be forever grateful to them. My experience with this hotel was excellent but this experience made it total perfection. Thank you and a very Merry Christmas to you both.

"Nice close to downtown venues but food was yucky"
We went out to a hotel with the family to walk around Ottawa and go to City Hall and Parliament Hill so the kids could see Santa and the Christmas lights. We couldn't wait to get back and order room service since we didn't eat most of the day. The food was terrible and each meal was either over cooked or under cooked. The lady at the front desk took the whole meal off our bill and let us know they had a new cook. Staff was lovely but we didn't bother having breakfast at the hotel we walked around downtown til we found a little breakfast joint! I really liked the rooms, so bright and airy!
