Not impressed

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Beds were comfy. Breakfast was adequate.
Cons: Entire hotel looks like it needs to be renovated soon. Maintenance has a lot to do here.
I'm not sure what hotel the other reviewers were staying at but this couldn't have been the same one. One revewer said there wasn't an elevator, there was. Other revewers said this place was great, it wasn't. The beds were comfortable, otherwise the rest was substandard. The fridge was unpluged so the carpet in front of it was wet and smelled musty. I plugged it in and it worked fine. The air conditioner rattled all night. I picked something off the wall by the bed, don't know what it was, don't want to know. The bathroom fan growled and didn't draw air but it had to stay on with the light. the bathroom door wouldn't shut because the top rubbed on the frame. The plaster on the bathroom ceiling was falling off and large patches were missing. The bathroom floor was dirty and had lots of hair but a quick wipe with the hotel's dingy white towel cleaned it up along with several spiders that were making residence there. All this, after we politely asked the desk clerk to give us a room that she would stay in. I don't think she would. This place needs a good cleaning and a lot of maintenance before I'll come back.

Great place to stay with our pup

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Location: Great base to go to Starved Rock - about a 15 minute drive. Close to other shops and retailers.
Very easy check-in and friendly staff. Our room was quite big - more than enough room for myself, husband and our 50-lb dog. Would definitely stay again.

The desk staff were really great - friendly and efficient. Breakfast was also really great, EXCEPT there was no hot chocolate!!!

I stayed two nights while in town for a wedding. Location was great for me and it's dog friendly for those who travel with pets. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stay Cut Short Due To Fire! :(

Posted Apr 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our stay at the La Quinta was only a few hours as there was a fire in one of the rooms and we were sent over to the Quality Inn, which sucked in comparison to the La Quinta. The two ladies at the La Quinta handled the situation with the fire so professionally, I was extremely impressed. They were amazing under pressure and deserve to be recognized for the way they responded to the situation and to the guests! We will stay at the La Quinta on our trip next year.
