“See you again soon!”
Perfect location, great service. Parking was a hassle - too expensive and inadequate spaces. Everything else was awesome!
“Great hotel.”
Great hotel.
“good deal”
I would repeat.
“Good location, small rooms with non functional bathrooms”
If you are looking for a good location hotel this is a good option, parking is not in the same building but in a near by building. Bathrooms are not very comfortable, not very independent from the rest of the room, so privacy within the bathroom does not exist.
“Close to everything”
Very nice hotel. Staff was very helpful. Modern decor. Near the By Market and Parliament. Would stay there again.
“Excellent!”
Location, Customer Service, Amenities
“Pretty good hotel”
This is an Expedia VIP hotel and they upgraded me to a suite. It was near the housekeeping so I requested to be moved so I wouldn't get woken up in the morning. Both suites were nice and the service was very considerate in moving me. Service in general was good with one exception: when I checked in at 9:30pm they told me that I had missed the light show on the Parliament b/c it started at 9pm so I didn't go. Turns out it starts at 10pm but they had it wrong and my tining would have been perfect. Pool and hot tub were good. Location was ok but near the slightly seedy section of Rideau St - not awful or anything but there were some sleazy types walking around. Overall would stay again.
“Great Location - but some issues”
Location in Ottawa can't be beat. Hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Parliament Hill, about 30 minute walk to anywhere else in Ottawa you would want to go. Rooms were a bit too "Euro Chic" for me. Housekeeping is not very good. I had to call several times for extra towels / pillows, etc. I left several messages on voicemail requesting these things, but they never responded. I had to keep calling back until I got a live person. Price was very good considering I visited during Canada Day.
“Very Disappointed”
I was highly disappointed with Novotel. I had always held Novotel in high esteem and that was my motivation for selecting this hotel. I have used less renowned hotels in the Ottawa and Montreal areas in recent weeks and my experience at Novotel was no where close. The room was not spacious, housekeepers were taking towels out without replacing them, no fridge for use, low quality water that sells at $1.99 for 12 bottles at shoppers drugmart was going for $4 each in the room, nothing welcoming at all. There was not even body lotion, forget about shower cap and something to wipe your shoes. But what put me completely off and made me spent most of my time out of the room and with a friend lodging at the University of Ottawa STUDENT RESIDENCE was that the room which was supposed to be non-smoking smelled like someone just smoked there before I entered. I called a housekeeper to verify that and I called reception to report that. Nothing was done. What can i say? A waste of money and a terrible 3 day stay (I did not really stay) at Novotel. Most likely my last. Thank you for your attention.
“Our multipurpose trip to Ottawa and the Novotel Hotel (one of the better places we have stayed)”
This was the perfect place for us to stay in the city . Its location offered access to everything there is to do in the city. the capital buildings, byward market, shopping center, were all within a few minutes walk. Public transit was there to take you in every direction. Restaurants, pubs, entertainment all within walking distance. Great time, great place to stay.
