Very close to attractions.

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Location, parking ok but a tad expensive at 23 $ a day.
Cons: Big building project outside of hotel, but not hotels problem, hopefully when it is complete it doesn't spoil the city view.
Had a great stay, took minutes to get to By ward market area and city attractions.

Paid for a 2 beds room, got a room with one bed.

Posted Sep 30, 2014
When I tried to explain that I have reserved and paid for a room with 2beds 4 months prior and now I am getting a room with one bed, the woman at the desk was rude with me and told me that the reservation via internet is not always sure.

Room design and structure

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: It is a modern looking, clean hotel located strategically close to everything in downtown Ottawa.
Cons: Please see first box.
The bathroom glass doors afforded bare minimum privacy. A stocked bar of high priced items with no room for occupant use was unacceptable. We discovered after reading the info card, tucked away in the closet, the option of a top sheet for use rather than only the heavy duvet after our first night's stay. We put the top sheet on the bed for the second night and on the third night the top sheet was removed, folded and left on top of the bed. The underground parking was poorly explained, confusing and there were too few spaced in number. We experienced difficulty in finding a space as did other people on two separate occasions of us coming/going. We chose the Novotel as it was affordable in a prime big city location. We also chose it for it's reputation. We would not choose this location again.

Nothing fancy, but for the price...?

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Free Wifi and a good signal too!
Cons: I realize it's trying to be frugal, and you can't complain about the price, but plastic Dixie cups as glasses in the room?
I usually stay at the Novotel when I'm in Ottawa. The hotel isn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but it's location is near perfect for downtown, and when you compare what it does have for the price, you can't beat it.

Good location

Location: Byward Market Parliament Hill War Memorial Chateau Laurier Hotel
The hotel is in a good location for those who want to spend a day in the market, walk to parliament and do any other tourist type activities. Rooms are a bit small, but we didn't spend much time in them other than to sleep. The rooms have a modern design and were well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location for Ottawa tourism

Posted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Complimentary WiFi was slow
Location: Byward shopping center, Byward market, Royal mint, Parliament, museums.
Really great location. Big shopping mall is across street, Byward market is 2 minutes walk. And also major tourist spots are walkable or easily accessible by bus, of course bus stop is close to hotel. Location of garage was difficult to find at first, but was really convenient place.
