Beautiful historic hotel in perfect location

Posted Jul 31, 2015
Located on Ourays Main Street one can explore the town easily on foot. The room as well as the entire hotel was a step into the past of the town. Historic furniture and room composition made this a very romantic experience. Nice hotel staff and a great breakfast! No TV in the room, which may be a setback for some but didn't bother us at all. We will come back there.

Very hot no air conditioning

Posted Jul 3, 2015
No air conditioning and not kid friendly at all. Breakfast was ok but cups to drink out of were the size of a shot glass.

Christy E. average temperature for July is 73.9 day time night 45.1 Sorry that you were uncomfortable. You booked your room for two adult and show up with 3 kids an a 7 month old baby. We recommend 4 guests for a double room that may be the reason that your room was a bit room warm. The shot glass is actually three shots. I measured it just to be sure. They have been used for the last 20 years nobody's ever complained I try very hard for everybody to have a great time here sorry that you didn't. David B.

Cool hotel!

Posted Jul 2, 2015
This hotel is really cool! The decor is amazing! We came in late but our key to our room was left in the reception area. The breakfast was delicious and served by a hostess! This hotel is close to the million dollar highway!

Step into the past.

Posted Jun 13, 2015
Pros: Everything was perfect. The trust that all is good.
Cons: It isn't for anyone with trouble going up stairs. Not for the physically challenged.
Location: Ouray is a beautiful little town with shops and hiking trails within walking distance. Try out the Irish Pub. It has great food, and beers.
It is a well maintained hotel and decorated like you stepped into the past. The breakfast was made to enjoy and relax before heading out. The staff was very friendly. The parlor has the large TV and reading materials, so there isn't one in the rooms. Of course, back then there isn't TV's in your bedroom. We really loved it and will stay again.

Beautiful B&B in a beautiful town

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Beautiful B&B, great food, great people.
St. Elmo was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic B&B in Ouray. It's been beautiful decorated and furnished, with even tiny details like the door hinges period appropriate. The breakfast is your traditional cold cereal, coffee, and fruit fare, with the added bonus of a different meal cooked fresh--we had some fantastic cheese blintzes and polenta casserole while we were there. There's also an afternoon social gathering where you can enjoy snacks, wine, and conversation with the owners and other guests. A hot tub and sauna rounds out the amenities. The owners are also a great source of advice on where to go, what to do, and where to eat. Will be staying here again!

2 nights at Ouray

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: It's pretty good, Just better lighting in rooms but that's not important
Location: Good location in town, Close to ice park
Old English style hotel with a nice feel. The hosts were very friendly and offer guests happy hour drinks which is most sociable. Hot, fresh cooked breakfasts vary daily cooked by a friendly cook

Great atmosphere!

Posted Jan 14, 2015 on Hotels
Very hospitable, friendly service and always around for questions, advice or just to chit chat. I came for the ice festival, and they started breakfast earlier to accommodate. Good people, relaxing atmosphere, and attentive service are reasons I'll stay here next time I'm in Ouray!

A trip into the past with luxury.

Cheese blintzes for breakfast were great. Dinner at the Bon Ton restaurant in the building was also great!
