Days Inn

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Friendliness of staff, ocean front room for decent price
Location: Jockeys Ridge, Wright Bros Memorial, Lighthouses
This mini vacation was only for one night. My husband and I recently moved to NC from WA. He had never seen the East Coast, I wanted to take him to Nags head because I love the Outer banks. His first impression was altered by the rudeness of the hotel clerk. She was not friendly and was quite rude to us. I paid $270 for one night at an "Ocean Front" Hotel, expecting to have an ocean front room with a view. the room was tucked in an awkward location in the middle of the hotel without any view of the ocean. The room was fair and the beds semi comfortable. I will not book a room at this hotel again.

Hurricane Horror

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Tried to get a refund because of a Hurricane on the day of check in, but was told by management that unless I cancelled before 72 hours I was out the full amount. 96 hours it was a tropical storm off of Florida 72 hours it was a tropical storm that may hit off of North Carolina 48 hours it was a category I Hurricane that would hit North Carolina 24 hours it was a category II Hurricane that was going to hit North Carolina and people were told to evacuate So much for trying to enjoy the weekend of my retirement from the Army. I will never stay in a Days Inn again.

The hotel was great. The staff was very kind, the room was very clean and we got upgraded to ocean front! To say the least we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Close to the beach

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Cons: The bathroom needs a complete makeover. The shower can't maintain a consistent temperature. The rooms need dehumidifiers.
Location: Great dining at Josephine's and Colington Café.
Conveniently located near the beach, but in desperate need of some upgrades and maintenance.

Need some serious renovations

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Hotel staff was wonderful room had a terrible smell had a bid hole at bottom of door big enough for a mouse to get in. Breakfast room to many people in it unable to get breakfast. I know its on the beach and pool was nice but just to much money.

Nice location close to the beach

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Cons: Rooms could be updated
Location: Liked the location and was within walking distances to some restaurants and stores.
The room was clean and comfortable but very small. We thought we were getting ocean front view but the hotel was just on the ocean front (no view), so we were a little disappointed. However, the hotel was still in a good location and the breakfast was good.

Nice enough but small

Posted Jun 30, 2014
The days Inn Wilbur in Outer banks has a great location, right on the beach. The room was clean and well enough equipped, with a refrigerator/freezer unit, iron and ironing board, etc., but the room was extremely small, so small there was no closet but rather a rack on which to hang clothes in one corner. There was a table and chairs, but we had to keep them pushed against the wall to be able to move around - just imagine that only one person at a time could get around the queen sized bed. Aside from that, the air conditioner (critical) worked well, and the public areas -downstairs lobby and breakfast room - were very nice. I suppose as long as you are not bothered by trailer living, you would not be bothered by the room size here.

Horrible! Beware!

Awful! Run down. Old. No elevators. No luggage charts. Smallest rooms ever seen. Loud. No privacy. Rude front desk staff. Never again. Never recommend

Nice hotel close to the beach

Pros: Cleand and excellent staff.
Enjoyed a wonderful two days. Rooms were clean. Staff were excellent. This is an older hotel and does not include an elevator for those who have disabilities. Also found that it was located close to restaurants and shops for convenience, as well as local sites for quick excursions around OBX.
