Nice hotel just steps from the beach-

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: I loved the location.
Cons: It would be nice to extend the breakfast till 10:00 am
Location: Lots of nearby restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, etc.
Our family just returned from 3 wonderful days at the Outer Banks in Kill Devil Hills. We booked at the last minute and were very happy to get a suite at Days Inn Marina. Our adult son and his girlfriend were traveling with us so we needed sleeping accommodations for 4 adults. The suite we got had one bedroom with a double bed with a door that closed and then 2 double beds in the other part of the suite. I loved the fact that we had a refrigerator, stove, and table as well as a "living room" area with a TV. Rooms had been recently updated and were nice. My husband drives on the beach and we were delighted that there was a beach access right beside the hotel. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

VERY Disappointing

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was ok.
Cons: See above
I cannot believe it cost us almost 200 dollars per night for this place. Very outdated and no upkeep at all. The balcony floor paint was badly maintained. Stairwells..ugh! No elevator and they put us on a 3rd level, ages 78 and 80. Stove burner was broken. Kitchen cabinets were all at refrigerator top level. We are 5' and 5'2" We could not reach the items in them. Very large stain on bedroom chair. I thought that, it being a part of Wyndam corporation, it would have been better.

Older hotel close to beach with great breakfast

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Clean, quiet, friendly, good pool, and easy access to ocean.
Cons: Minor upkeep for better appearance.
Location: We visited museum of flight, hiked and flew kite at the large dunes, visited lighthouses and historical sites, went on ferry, and saw wild horses.
Quiet rooms, friendly staff, delicious filling breakfast. Ocean can be seen from second floor, but need to walk across parking lot to view beach. Has a bench and stairs close to the beach. Clean pool enjoyable to swim in but not heated. Glad they had it since the ocean had strong waves. The fully equipped kitchen was handy for quick meals that help lower expenses. Liked having two bedrooms for family to be together. It is, also, easy to get to many activities from its location.

Rough Shape

Posted Sep 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had reserved four nights, and as soon as we walked in I knew we were not staying. Wew reserved a king suite with roll-out couch, to find on check in there was no such thing. We got two twins in a room that had once been two rooms, and combined by knocking down a wall. That meant there were two doors at either end, but only the one very small bathroom retained. Every time we opened a door on either front or back balcony someone was smoking in our faces. Stated to be renovated in 2011, it was in rough shape, and the bathroom was dirty; the kind of dirty that makes you shower in your flip flops and not touch anything. We cancelled and headed to another hotel the next morning.
