Two Nights in the Outer Banks

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Location...
Cons: The beds must be replaced/upgraded. Fully functional sink would be nice. Offer something for breakfast...given the prices, I was disappointed overall.
Location: The beach...
The location is fine. Only coffee offered in the mornings, had to go elsewhere to eat breakfast. Bathroom sink facets didn't rotate completely so no control over the temperature. Bed was very uncomfortable...springs were very noticeable...

Pros: The location was great, right in the middle of town.
Cons: Make the rooms cleaner and upgrade the furniture, especially the chairs in the room. I was afraid they would not hold me.
Location: Hatteras Lighthouse is nearby.
The room could have been much cleaner. It looks like they are upgrading, so it might be better in the near future.

Hotel with a view

Posted Jun 29, 2014
The rooms were clean. The staff was personable and helpful. The pool water was clean and warm. The view from the lookout tower was amazing. You can see the ocean, the light house and a beautiful sunset. The negatives would be that there was not enough places to hang up our wet clothes and towels. Plus there was not enough space at the sink for all of our things. We had a teenager and a young child so you know we had alot of bathroom things! It was nice and convient though that the sink was outside of the bathroom so two people could be getting ready at the same time. The hotel was in good condition and kept up. You do have to drive up to you Room, so it is more of a motel but it is nice to have your car right there. You could go to the lobby 24 hours to get coffee, cold tea or lemonade so that was nice, but they did not serve any breakfast or snacks. There were vending machines, plus restaurants within walking distance. The beach access was right across the parking lot and a short five minute walk. Overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

All you need, fair price and nice staff. Only issue is that all electronic stuff is very updated and with all the cons involved (noisy AC, old Tv, etc.). Other than that, it was all I needed to spend the night.

Musty and run down. Not worth the price.

Posted Jun 9, 2014
The staff dis come spray some Fibre eye when we reported the heavy musty smell of our room. The bathroom floor was dirty and the whole place was dated. They only offered coffee and tea. It was very overpriced for the value of what we got.

Bad experiance

Posted May 23, 2014
Cons: Improve managment attention to the hotel.
We had a reservasion for 2 nights, the room they gave us they said was ready but when we got to the room it was not ready. It took a while until they found us another room. The next day we were out for the day and came back around 8PM, our room key did not work, when we got a new key and when we returned to the room found out the room was never serviced, bed not made, towels still on the floor, not cleaned. When we checked out they said they were sorry.

Great for a short getaway!

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfy; the room was spacious and well-stocked.
Cons: The staff could have been a friendlier, but a new receptionist was being trained so things were a little hectic.
Location: Buxton is a quaint little beach town will lovely beaches and restaurants.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night on our 2-day pre-graduation beach trip. Booking through Expedia made the checking in and out experience hassle-free because we had paid in advance. The picture online is a bit deceiving, this is a motel with rooms whose doors open to the outside. The room was clean and well-stocked and the bed was comfortable. The beach is a short walk down a residential road, which was nearly empty since we stayed during the middle of May (end of the off-season). There are a shower and a hose near the pool to rinse off sand post-beach!

Stayed for three days.

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness of the bathroom.
Cons: The outside of this motel is in poor condition. Seems like the winter would be a good time to make some improvements.
Location: Great seafood /bar named Pops, we went there several times.
Our room was very clean, the outside of the motel needed much repair. A coat of paint could go along way. The rooms weren't very soundproof so when your neighbors have been out drinking until 4 in the morning the whole place is up. The front desk help was very nice. Needed a few things that we didn't get but overall it was a good experience.

Nice cheap hotel for night stay

Posted May 19, 2014
We stayed here after traveling from north (Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Bodie Island, Pea island reserve) and wanted just a night stay just before heading to Ocracoke next morning. That way, it has the perfect location. In has a nearby beach, but I'm not sure if that is private. Pros - Cheap, Clean, Good staffs. Cons - No Wifi (Wifi only in lounge), No breakfast, Swimming pool was closed.

Nice weekend get away spot next to CH Lighthouse.

Posted May 18, 2014
We got an awesome deal for $95 a night during the 2nd week of May. They were renovating and painting while we were there but it didn't affect us. They had just painted the pool as well. Our room was clean and smelled decent. It wasn't anything fancy just a basic king size bed with a pullout couch. Had clean towels and a clean bathroom. Had older TV but it worked. The beach was just a short walk away past the pool. Did not realize until we got there that the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was so close, almost but not quite walking distance which I'd guess to be less than half a mile. The ice machine was broke which messed our cooler at the beach plan up. Check in was quick and easy. Overall not too bad for a weekend away.
