“Great value at the Outer Banks, N.C.”
This hotel lives up to the reviews written about it. In addition I was very pleased by the hotel staff, especially the ladies at the front desk. They are extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations.
“Not impressed with demeanor of desk staff.”
The three people who checked us in need a little upgrade in attitude. They acted like we were trying to pull a fast one on them with regards to number of people in our party and towel request. We had already paid for the room in advance with a credit card and since we had four people in our group and not just two, we were charged an additional fee and also questioned afterward as to why we wanted two additional towels. We are frequent hotel/motel users so we kind of know when we are treated differently than usual.
“"Paid extra for an ocean view but couldn't see the ocean"”
Our main disappointment was not being able to see the ocean from our room. We had an ocean front, true enough, but on the second floor we could only see a sand dune and parking lot. This is an older hotel that has had some recent attempts at remodeling but in our room the wallpaper was miscut and peeling off the walls. For what ever reason there was no bed spread only sheets and the lock on the sliding glass door was broken. We were glad that we had only a one night stay on the way to Kitty Hawk. I think we would have had a pretty dismal vacation had we spent the week here.
“Loved the staff. Best hotel on the beach. Great rooms.”
I love this hotel. The room was clean and fresh smelling. check-in and check-out was quick. Will be staying here again. Staff was very friendly.
“Nice for the money”
Not bad. Clean and basic, but good for oceanfront hotel. Nice new lobby.
“"LOCATION"”
You can't beat waking up to an ocean view!!!! We found our accommodations very satisfactory and the bed very comfy. The location is so convenient. The beach is literally at your door step. Saturday morning breakfast was great with the sweet potato and ham biscuits; but BIG disappointment when they weren't there Sunday. Also, it would have been nice to have had some cereal choices for the grandkids.
“Clean room, very friendly staff!”
We had a wonderful stay at the Nag's Head Inn. The room was very clean, lobby was cozy and inviting, pool and hot tub were lovely, all in all a great experience! Having heard about the recent bed bug epidemic sweeping the nation, we watched videos on YouTube on how to check for them, which was the first thing we did when we entered the room - to our total satisfaction. Our only complaint would be a minor one, considering we were not spending a lot of time at the facility: We had a lovely sliding door, which was not ocean side, but rather faced a quiet street and beach houses across the way. (We knew this when we booked) While there was no balcony, there was a railing, and it would have been very nice to have had the ability to open the sliding door. Unfortunately, it was fused closed somehow. We assume that this was done on purpose, but in the interest of fairness, we didn't ask if there was a "trick" to it, so perhaps it was just stuck. Still, if fresh beach air is important to you, I would recommend asking about this one detail. We would definitely stay again!
“Nags Head Inn”
This is an older hotel which has been fully renovated with excellent quality. The services are minimal because there is no restaurant, but the hotel provided a coffee/pastry service in one of the suites. I WILL stay here again!
“Russ, R”
My wife & I stayed at Nags Head Inn and had a very good experience. The Hotel is very clean from top to bottom. our room was very clean, nice quick with a great view of the setting Sun. The beach is just off their parking lot very close. The staff was very friendly though out our stay. We arrived in Mid February early in the season and we didn't find many of the local restaurants to be open. We asked the fount desk for recommendations on good places to eat. We were provide and with a printed list of local places close to the hotel and that were currently open this time of year. My wife & I truly enjoyed our stay at Nags Head Inn. Really would like to go back again soon!
“Going back to view the ocean.”
It was a pleasent stay. The new wife and i had a good time and will return for another stay at a later date. It is a central location for the Outer Banks on the nothern end, that is from Southern Shores to Manteo.
