Good hotel in a nice location with easy access to Oxford. Staff a bit distracted and breakfast tasted cheap but hopefully that was just an off day. Worth a try

Short overnight stay but very enjoyable and far superior to the Randolph which definitely requires a refurb !

v good room - OK food - make sure you ask at reception for your room name - they give you a number but all the signs are room names so its very confusing - note no lift so two floors carrying bags

Good for visit to Oxford
Posted Jan 31, 2012
Pros: Location outside of Oxford. Pleasant grounds and surrounding area. Free parking!
Cons: Not enough staff serving at breakfast. Had to wait a long time for order and when arrived it was incorrect! Second day, however, was better.
Location: Quiet parkland. On side of Thames. Local to excellent chef and brewer pub with log fires! The kings arms, much recommended.
Excellent location for kassam stadium. Commutable distance to Oxford. Would definitely return for another stay. Good clean functional hotel.

Quiet and romantic getaway for couples
Posted Jan 8, 2012
Pros: The comfort, the decor, the space, the spa.
Cons: The food was sometimes disappointing, bar staff sometimes inexperienced.
Location: Lovely romantic grounds and near to the centre of Oxford.
Building and decor and cleanliness fantastic. Some staff, particularly bar, inexperienced. Chamber maids very friendly. Food occasionally disappointing.

Convenient to Oxford
Posted Jan 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
Very good hotel, food and accommodation. Unfortunately the hotel accommodate wedding parties who occupy the main reception area, on this occasion very young children were allowed to make a lot of notice and were disruptive. The hotel management did not deal with this and when mentioned shrugged their shoulders.

Great location in summer, when boat runs to Oxford
Posted Jan 1, 2012 on Hotels.com
We paid full price for this hotel , so did not think it was good value . It would have been a beautiful and convenient location , but in October the boat trip to Oxford was not running . This meant we had to drive to the sister hotel to park and then walk 10 minutes to town. We should have stayed in the sister hotel!
