"Relaxing hotel with good facilities and good food"
Lovely hotel located just outside Oxford. We arrived late in the evening but were made very welcome. Excellent welcome for our dog who was treated as part of the family. Large, extensive gardens (over 60 acres) with plenty of things to do and look at. There's a river - several of the rooms are river rooms with their own patios to sit out. If you want a gym, garden games, croquet, chess, badminton, tennis, cycling - all available. Spa treatments are also available. Staff are amenable. We had breakfast and an evening meal and both were enjoyable and relaxing. One minor negative point to avoid - if you are not quite so mobile you need to make staff aware in advance as some areas involve quite a bit of a walk and steps. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Charming room with a countryside view!"
Booked due to it being a convenient location to a party I was attending and it was the most relaxing time I have had in ages. I loved the charm mixed with modern touches. Beautiful room, gorgeous scenery. I stayed two nights but it felt so much longer.Thank you.

"Old Country Pub in quiet village"
Small rooms in pub grounds in a converted barn. These are adequate for one night but I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that. The rooms noticeably lacked small touches such as soap, tissues, toilet brush etc. Comfortable bed and tea and coffee facilities were provided. Friendly landlord but other staff were not over enthusiastic. There were a number of food choices "off the menu" for the evening meal. The English breakfast was good but other breakfast choices were at a minimum. Generally quiet, didn't appear to be supported by locals which gave you the feeling that if it wasn't for the room guests the pub would have very few customers. Wouldn't think it was really a suitable location for families but it is a dog friendly pub as there were people staying in rooms with dogs!!!! Not sure I would agree with that, there should be Dogs Allowed rooms and No Dogs Allowed rooms because some people have allergies to animal fur. Choices! as it it used to be of course with smoking and no smoking rooms.

"Tiny expensive hotel"
Everything about this hotel was perfect except for the tiny size of the room. There was nowhere comfortable to sit and the space to put your clothing was inadequate and awkward to get at (deep low shelves as opposed to drawers). The reason I would not recommend it is because for the price it was just not worth it. I think they try to make up for the lack of space by doing everything else (service, food, cleanliness, fantastic bathroom) really well. Unfortunately we were still cramped.

"Great location for visiting the Cotswolds"
The Fox Inn was superbly located in a small village 1 km from the main Oxford - Cheltenham main road, but was off the beaten track beside the River Windrush. The room was really comfortable and the staff pleasant with good beer and food. Exactly what I was looking for.

"Good value"
Everything was as we had hoped. The only criticism is in respect of how long we had to wait to be served at the bar but it was extremely busy and the staff were very stretched to look after everybody promptly.

"Great stay, friendly staff"
The hotel is a traditional 17th century terrace so expect lots of character. I had a great stay here and found the staff to be very friendly. Breakfast was served at the adjoining cafe and was excellent.
