Scenic and getting a bit oldPosted Jun 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Generally it was a nice hotel, plenty of parking and average WiFi. I had little phone signal on Three and Vodafone but a short drive away it was back to normal. The only downside was the single glazed windows, they don't shut well enough so you can hear everything outside.

Good hotel but needs some small tweaksPosted Jun 1, 2014
Lovely hotel and handy location for Oxford. Very comfortable room and good restaurant. However the room was very cold (although they had an electric heater) and the shower barely had any water coming out of it (not a problem for us as we were only staying one night). You can also hear the main road when you're in the garden and you can tell the rooms have previously had damp (due to the recent patchy paint work). Great if you want to be near Oxford but slightly pricey for what we ended up with.

perfect locationPosted May 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel was ideal for us. Located just off the A34 and only a few minutes from Redbridge park and ride, which meant we did not need to drive to or find parking (practically non-existent) in the city centre. The great service, friendly staff and good food were an added bonus. We would happily go back there if visiting Oxford again.

Lovely for a wedding i'd imaginePosted Apr 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed here because there was a special offer, the room was reduced from it's standard price to a much more reasonable price (but by no means a bargain) which I think is a much better price point for the hotel, I didn't really feel like I was staying in a room that warranted the higher price tag. It was very comfortable, clean but the decor was a bit dated. Bathroom needs updating. The food was lovely, the surrounds were beautiful and the downstairs area would be a lovely venue for a wedding I am sure, but I certainly wouldn't stay there at it's full price for business purposes, if you get a discount, definitely book in, if not you might be disappointed.

Average hotel in an average locationPosted Mar 20, 2014
After staying at many other hotels through England our expectations were a little higher than what we got - staff were average, don't get me wrong they were professional but not warm and welcoming like the other hotels we had stayed in!

Welcoming staff, personal feelPosted Dec 9, 2013
Pros: Attentive staff
Cons: Shower facilities
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and inside the decore was lovely. The room was very clean, relatively large and the bed was comfy. It had all the expected facilities, the only thing I would say is that as the building is very old and as the features are kept in that style the shower was not modern and ran boiling hot then freezing cold constantly. The staff were very attentive though to all questions and needs, for example bringing a fresh jug of ice cold water to the room at no extra charge. They were all very professional and polite.

Great base for Oxford stayPosted Nov 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Super hotel in lovely grounds; handy for Park & Ride. Friendly & welcoming staff. Well-presented room, although bed a bit on the soft side.

Poor quality room for the premium pricePosted Nov 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Expensive room. Stayed in premium rate room which on arrival was very cold as no heating on. Poor quality room, damp patches in ceiling, unfinished unpainted curtain rails, tiles missing in bathroom, dripping tap, screws sticking out of door knobs of unfinished bathroom door, poor quality shower was unable to regulate temperature correctly kept going hot and cold, tea and coffee not replenished after first night. staff were nice as were social areas of hotel, no phone reception.

Wonderful and cozy getaway!Posted Nov 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
My mom and I stayed at this hotel after a busy trip to London and a hiking trip to the Cotswolds. We enjoyed a much needed two day rest and some nice walks at the Westwood. We had a car to get to other areas but there is a bus stop nearby. The service and food is amazing and I would stay there again in an instant. If you are looking for a really exciting time this might not be the place for you but we enjoyed it as a peaceful and relaxing escape from the city.
