First impressions were good - a lovely location, a nice looking hotel, a room with a roof terrace to relax on... and that’s all I can say that’s a positive. The door handle to the balcony was broken and fell off whenever you tried to close the door, the room had no ironing board (not that uncommon) and no hairdryer (inexcusable). There was a phone in the room but no paperwork other than the dinner menu. No numbers to call, no “what to do in an emergency”.
The same was true of the breakfast room. I helped myself to some cereal and a yoghurt as there was nothing to indicate a charge! The waiter was taking orders for cooked breakfast and, only when he realised someone had checked out so couldn’t he charged, did he mention that there was a fee!! But never said how much. In my mind this is deceitful and immoral. If breakfast isn’t included, it should be advertised at the table! £6.50 for continental breakfast (only cereal, strawberry yoghurt and juice was offered so a complete rip-off!).
I then thought I’d left my laptop charger at the hotel so rang up to ask if it was in my room. After three hours I rang back, astonished they hadn’t contacted me. They said the cleaners would look when they got to that room. Disappointing service.
This hotel’s management needs to reconsider how they operate. Until they do, I do not recommend this for any trip.
