Excellent hotel but...

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The staff are wonderful. They are polite, friendly and really helpful.
Cons: Apart from the restaurant, room maintenance could be tightened up a bit (blinking lights, sockets that don't appear to work, missing bath plugs - simp
Location: The hotel is virtually in the middle of nowhere - convenient if you're travelling by car.
The Crowne Plaza Padova is a super hotel with excellent and helpful staff. It is, unfortunately, some distance from the city centre so it is not really that suitable for anyone looking for a city break. The hotel does run a shuttle service into town but it doesn't start until 10 am so it's not much use if you want to catch a train before then and coming back is a problem because it's difficult to know what time you will be returning (and you have to book in advance). Taxis cost around €12 from the railway station so it doesn't add too much extra on your holiday. The worst thing is that you are trapped in the middle of nowhere and are forced to use the restaurant or taxi into town and back. The restaurant is ok for one or two nights but, to be honest, the menu is uninspiring and the chef unimaginative (and that's being polite!). His pasta dishes are the driest thing this side of the Gobi Desert (I saw several abandoned or even sent back!).

Good value Hotel

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Large clean rooms.
Cons: More shuttles as taxis to town daily soon add up.
Location: St. Anthony's Basilica, Botanical Gardens (medicinal plants), Museums, Markets, lots of eateries and street entertainment. Good for shopping too.
Had a lovely stay, although hotel a little far from town and main attractions. They offer shuttle service but was not available for convenient time. Local bus does not go near hotel either. Staff very helpful and welcoming though.

Great Venice home base!

Posted Jan 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great family room actually two adjoining rooms... although be careful to check non smoking as the double room we had was smoking... As our family are older we had no problem moving to another room which was ok with the hotel... Bed very good and shower awesome. Book shuttle early to get to the station or you will miss out train trip to Venice was $3.60 each Euros each way and took half an hour. Great breakfast, dinner was small but very nice.

Stayed one night, it was very good value for money. The hotel and room was clean and the customer service was great. I booked the morning breakfast and was surprised with the extensive choice of food.
