“Wolf Creek Ski base”
The hotel was old and not the cleanest. It served its purpose as a place to stay while skiing at Wolf Creek. The breakfast was good and the lodge and common areas were nice. The rooms are in need of updating though. The hotel was 20 miles from the ski area.
“d”
very nice folks running the hotel.....great breakfast
“can't wait to go back, it is so charming and beautiful, hot tub so nice after skiing”
hot tub so nice after skiing! room super. kitchen and breakfast room so charming and comfortable with roaring fire and rustic furniture, we wanted to move in. Staff super helpful for my son sustained an injury so we needed to go home and cancell the last night and we were allwoed to leave without incurring penalty of the charge. My hat's off to you all at High Country and we will definitely return, probablby in a month or two. The inn was so beautifully decked out for Christmas, it was a delight. Thank you so much.
“EZ access to town and mountain”
Rooms were small, like your typical motel room, and floors were squeaky, so you definitely want to ask for an upstairs room, but the room had a microwave and fridge, which was nice. I would get one of the cabins if I go back, although I didn't get to see the inside of any cabins. They had one of the better continental breakfasts I've had. The place was between Pagosa and Wolf Creek Ski Area, so you can't do much better than that - I didn't see anything closer to the ski area. The best part was the friendliness of the staff and the guests, and little perks like real coffee cups at breakfast and free DVDs and DVD players to borrow.
“Becareful what you are getting”
This hotel or more like motel is in a beautiful location. However all the pictures that expedia had are for the cabins not the "hotel". We were very dissapointed to find we did not get a cabin but a way over priced motel room. The people were very friendly and the breakfast was ok. Just make sure you are getting what you want.
“Good for the area”
The room was so small there was no where to put your suit case other than in the walk path. It was old but clean. However, the white towels were so old they were grey and harsh. I loved the 1980's clock glued to the table! It was the closest to the ski area so good for location. Since there wasn't much other lodging options in this town, this hotel was 'good' for the location, but doesn't rate as well as an average hotel. At least it wasn't expensive. Next time, we'll stay an hour away in Durango to have better lodging.
“Clean, Convenient, Good breakfast, Close to ski hill.”
Friendly staff that were accommodating to our late arrival. Affordable price for a 2 night stay. It's no "5 star hotel" but it was comfortable and convenient for a ski trip. There is a nice restaurant walking distance away as well as nice hot tubs to relax in.
“Very cozy, very accomodating!”
The staff were very friendly and accomodating...rooms were clean, linens were very fresh, wonderful breakfast, beautiful grounds. We will stay here again on our next visit to Pagosa Springs!
