“Palau Hotel”

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit out of the way but securing a rental car is as simple as going to the front desk. Compared to other hotels I saw while on the island I'm very happy I chose Airai View!

“Great value and excellent staff”

Wonderful experience at Airai. The hotel is a little old, but the service was great from the friendly and helpful staff. The location was close to the airport and away from everything, but the hotel shuttle was willing to drive us everywhere and at anytime for little or no extra charge. The drivers picked us up and sent us to the airport at 3am and 4am. The hotel is 5 mins away from the airport so it was important for us to stay here for those flights. The breakfast buffet was not bad, free of charge when booking on expedia. The hotel doesn't have its own beach, but the swimming pool was wonderful. The gift shop had some nice things for lower prices than other places. Overall, i would stay here again.

“Great staff :)”

The Airai is a pretty average Hotel with one exception...the staff who were always very cheerful and eager to please. They upgraded our room with no charge and changed out our hard as concrete mattress's with brand new ones. They were very accommodating arranging free shuttles into town and even to our dive operator which was 20 minutes away. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Not a great location for town or Malakal Harbor where our dive operator was but 5 minutes to the airport.

“Staff is AWESOME!”

Can't give enough compliments to the hotel's staff. They were AWESOME! Very helpful and accommodating. They even upgraded our room for free (without us even asking) to a corner beach front room. We emailed our flight times to them ahead of time and they had someone at the airport to pick us up and he helped us arrange our snorkeling tour as well as a rental car. One word of caution about this hotel -- it does not have an elevator. There were steps to the room (on the third floor) and also steps down to the pool/water park. Nice, basic hotel -- good breakfast buffet. Internet is available in the lobby, but is slow, Hotel is older and there are some areas that could be cleaned. Bottom line, we didn't spend much time at the hotel -- we were out seeing Palau and would stay here again.

My wife and I were quite pleased. The staff was exceptional, the facilities were quite nice. The wood carvings, which were through the hotel, were amazing. My only complaint was the tile in bathrooms needed to be regrouted. This may be taken care of soon as renovation work was underway.

“Not "Paradise", but certainly decent...”

Renovated rooms are quite nice (clean, modern, good views) - avoid the non-renovated ones. The facilities (particularly the pool and grounds) could use a little TLC, but the restaurant offered good food at reasonable prices. Very friendly and efficient staff (although language can be a bit of a barrier as most of the clientele, and thus most of the staff, are Chinese). Convenient location between the airport and Koror (but far enough away from both to have peace and quiet), but look elsewhere if you were expecting a beach (why go all that way to lie on a beach since all of the action is on the reefs???). All in all a good place to stay for the price.

“Nice hotel”

Nice hotel and very friendly staff. Far from the beach and from downtown, but there is a nice pool. Very few europeans, mainly Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese visitors. 5 minutes from the airport.

“Good but....”

The personnel and service of this hotel was spectacular. They were happy to accomodate requests and provide us with an extra bed (Queen-size!) no extra cost. We were upgraded from Deluxe to an Ocean View room without asking or extra cost. The view was spectacular, however we had to look past the lanai which needed some fixing and a good powerwash to remove mold. The olympic size pool and waterslide pool had some mold around the deck, I imagine is difficult to keep clean in that climate. The pool may not have been chlorinated, either--not sure. The kids (7 and 4 years old) had a ball playing on the waterslides (2) and various spa-style pools (none heated like a whirlpool, though). Beautiful woodwork in the entry, but the hotel had seen grander days. The rates were great but it wasn't the most luxurious hotel we've stayed at. The room had a split-A/C unit you could control yourself, beds hard as cement (Japanese style) but otherwise habitable. I would recommend this hotel for someone who doesn't require absolute luxury, doesn't plan on staying at the hotel for entertainment (except a little swimming) or dinner. If you are divers like us, you would rather spend your money on diving!!

“ok, but next time I'll stay elsewhere”

There were ants in the room, used and discarded band-aids in the shower, and the carpet had a weird funky smell. Overall, the room was ok I guess, but next time I'll be staying somewhere else.
