“Probably wouldn't go back.”

This is an extremely comfortable hotel with clean spacious rooms. The service was good, with one notable exception--an extremely surly reception desk employee who seemed uninterested in helping hotel guests. The hotel is well located with respect to some of the major sights, but the neighborhood was more than a bit forbidding after dark. Also, although we had a "superior" room with a terrace, it looked out on a garden filled with construction materials strewn about in every direction.

Area recommendations

The area around the Opera House seemed nice.

“TAORMINA'S GEM”

This beautiful luxury hotel lives up to it's reputation and surpasses it. This is the true epitome of LUXURY! From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty.The rooms and baths are beautifully appointed. The owner and his staff are warm and welcoming and knowledgeable. You can walk to everywhere from this location and take the bus or tram to the beach. This was our favorite hotel of our entire trip and we would love to return!

Area recommendations

Don't miss having dinner at La Piazzetta and Antica Trattoria Pizzeria LA BOTTE. The Hotel Carlotta is in the perfect location to walk to everywhere in town!

“First time in Palermo”

It was great to book this hotel through Expedia and it eased any worries I might have had otherwise. The hotel was very nice, the staff was extremely helpful and the location was excellent. If I ever return to Palermo I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

“Beautiful...Sicilian Style”

I truly enjoyed my stay. The buffet breakfast was the best I experienced during my 9 day trip around Sicily. The room was very nice and clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I loved that I gave my car keys and didn't have to think about it until departure at which time my car was waiting for me in 5 minutes. Great location to walk to the beach, some of the sites or catch transportation for tours. Beautiful roof top terrace. My only negative comment is that I could smell the oil cooking from the hotel restaurant. I was on the 4th floor, same as the restaurant, so this may have potentiated the smell however with it appears all the rooms have windows which open to a courtyard and thus the smells can freely move up or down to any floor.

Great location, beautifull building, reception and rooms too dark, unclean rooms.... and if you plan to stay there during the summer, no AC, or at least one that works...
