In a quiet area of town, but a healthy walk down!Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: The food and the rooms are outstanding.
Cons: We were so early they'd only just opened and some facilities weren't available.
Location: It's all beautiful; explore the rock pathway to the other port, or go up steps to the top of the rock. Explore the old town, cocktail on the beach?
We liked the walk into the old medieval town, or down to the beach for a cocktail, but those who are not sure-footed might not! The hotel itself is gorgeous; spacious rooms, comfy beds, incredibly good food all round; we had dinner here twice in a week and there is an outstanding breakfast. Cefalu is easy to navigate once you get your bearings, and the receptionist will give you a map. A great base for exploring the mountains too.

delightful staff, great pool and beach shuttlePosted Jul 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely stay.staff so helpful, everything ran to plan . Great pool in the hotel, lovely private beach with complimentary loungers and umbrellas and the nicest Lifeguard/beach manager/facilitator looking after all the guests. Be warned,if you arrive late and hungry (we arrived after midnight and never thought to phone ahead) there is no possibility of food after midnight - not even a sandwich. If we had phoned ahead I am sure they would have obliged. The breakfast the next morning more than made up for it.If you are driving make sure you have the coordinates, it is very difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with Cefalu, we found ourselves halfway up the wrong mountain! All in all a great stay, would definitely return.

Very nice hotel for a romantic getawayPosted Jun 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very beautiful and clean and the staff spoke English and were very friendly. When we arrived they upgraded our room and allowed us to check in early. They also allowed us to wait at the bar and order food and drinks until our room was cleaned as it was not ready since we checked in early. The beds were hard as a rock, but it was to be expected in Italy. Water temperature would jump drastically several times from hot to cold in the middle of your shower but it was bearable. We tried to make reservations for the couples circuit in the wellness center but they called at the last minute to move our reservation time and the desk got confused when we tried to just cancel. I believe it was due to language barrier and since it was an extra service it didn't really bother us. The hotel is tucked away in the hills behind the town which makes it feel very secluded but they provide a shuttle to take you to either the city center or the hotels private beach which are both only a short drive away. Overall I really enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay here again the next time we are in Cefalu.

Lovely resort hotel above CefaluPosted Jun 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Alberi del Paradiso is a lovely resort-type hotel in the hills above the sea-side town of Cefalu, about 40 miles east of Palermo, on Sicily's northern coast. We had rooms with a terrace and slightly oblique view of the sea. The rooms were spacious, bright and airy, basically unadorned - with attractive tile floors. Quintessentially Mediterranean. The climb up from the town - about a 20 minute walk - was arduous in parts, but good exercise after eating wonderful pasta in the town. We were both suffering from nasty colds during our stay, so twice we ate dinner at the hotel rather than venturing out. The food was excellent. Wonderful timbale with eggplant, for example, and nice house wines. Breakfasts were the best we had in a 3-week stay in Italy - excellent fresh fruit, pastries, eggs cooked to order, even granita, if you wanted it that early. And excellent coffee. All served on a terrace overlooking a garden. Wonderful, friendly service. Also the hotel has a good-sized swimming pool and a private beach to which you can go on a shuttle. And the town of Cefalu is a charming seaside village with world class mosaics in its 12th Century Norman Cathedral. Definitely worth the splurge.
