“good value”

Hotel was clean and staff friendly. You will need a car to get to Palermo from the hotel.

“dirty, shabby, not maintained”

The desk clerk was mocking, the air conditioner wasn't working when we arrived, the towels had stains on them, the rugs in the hallway were filthy, hadn't been vacuumed in weeks if not months. There were dogs roaming the grounds, barking all night, the tennis courts and other features shown on the website and in the brochures look like they hadn't been used since 1980. None of the bars were opened at all, we were one of three parties seated in the restaurant.

“Rundown”

This hotel was very run down. The room was not clean. We chose this hotel because the write up indicated shuttle service but we ended up having to take a taxi from and back to the airport. I would not recommend this hotel.

“Not ready for prime time”

Hotel staff are curteous and friendly and they speak english. The Hotel is nice on the inside but the outside is in sad disrepair. The neighborhood was filled with garbage all over the streets. The owners are continuing to work on the inside so once we got past the culture shock on the exterior, the interior was a bit more friendly. The restaurant on-site is closed and the free breakfast was a strange variety of pre-packaged snack foods (note, we were traveling in the off-season so this might not be the case during regular season). The towels are like sand paper and the bed is slightly better than a concrete slab. The rom furnishing (desk, night stands) were falling apart.

“Tired”

The hotel was very tired. The sink drain was blocked, the bath plug was stuck closed and could not be removed. The a/c was not working and the bed was warn ont with a large dip in the middle. A pack of dogs barked outside all night but because the a/c did not work we could not shut the window. The. Staff were pleasant enough but not interested in sorting out the problems as there were too few of them even to do the basics such as manning the bar.
