one night in PalermoPosted Oct 22, 2013
Pros: Very courteous staff, clean and attractive room.
Cons: Nothing that I noticed during my short stay.
Location: The snag is that I especially wanted to visit the Archaeological Museum, which is - or would be - fairly nearby. But that museum is closed.
good hotel, courteous staff, pleasant room. The hotel is perhaps fifteen minutes' walk from the heart of Palermo.

Lovely hotel in quiet areaPosted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: The location, the attitude of the staff, the cleanliness and the food. Also you are very close to the bus stop for the airport.
Location: Quiet part of the city with plenty of designer shops. Mondello beach resort can be reached by bus near to hotel.
We had an excellent holiday . The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were able to walk into the centre of Palermo easily from the hotel, but staff also gave advice on other places to visit. Their recommendations for restaurants were excellent. Our room was a good size and comfortable with air conditioning . The hotel is clean and welcoming. You have a lovely variety of food at the breakfast buffet.

Nice hotel in Palermo.Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Staff was very friendly, spoke English, and very kindly helped us to make arrangements for a driver when we could not rent a car as planned.
Cons: Room was a bit small, but comfortable. Better quality mattress and bedding would have been nice.
Location: Location was very convenient. We were able to easily walk to places to eat, transportation and most tourist sites.
This hotel was very nice, although Palermo is a bit shabby and dirty (lots of litter and trash in the streets and on the sidewalks. It is located just a few blocks (within easy walking distance) of the port area, bus station, rental car locations and several tourist sites. Additionally, there is a hop on-hop off site seeing bus that can get you to most places tourists would want to see. We only stayed here one night, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. We speak no Italian, but that was not a problem as all of the staff either spoke some English or made every effort to understand what we needed and help us.

Modern hotel in a nice part of town.Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: It was clean, well appointed and the staff were so helpful.
Cons: Attention to detail with bathroom products- we had 3 body lotions for 2 days no other prods. This was rectified once we asked. A very minor issue.
Location: The Hotel is in a nice part of town close to high end shops and excellent restaurants, but close to all the sites. Teatro Massimo is a must see.
We spent 5 nights in Hotel Opera Plaza with friends for an anniversary celebration. We upgraded to a deluxe room, our friends had the standard room. Our room was larger and had a better outlook but their room was very nice, adequate in size and had a slightly larger bathroom than ours. We had a Jacuzzi bath which was a bonus, plus we had tea and coffee facilities in room. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly from the start and happy to recommend restaurants and transport arrangements to get to the sites. The roof terrace is a real bonus, we made use of this with a super bottle of Prossecco on the evening of our anniversary. Lovely views from here. The breakfast is good. Nice selection of pastries, cheeses/meat/breads, cereals and fruit. The Maitre D will bring you your choice of drinks as much as you wish. I was a little disappointed with the coffee but it was nice and strong. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return without hesitation. Part of our decision in choosing this hotel was the other reviews which said it was not noisy. This is true. We turned our air conditioning off at night and opened a window and were not kept awake.

Only good locationPosted Sep 1, 2013
Cons: Clean. Clean. Clean.
Poor cleanliness. Good location , coach stop from and to airport just around the corner. Bar was never open. Good breakfast. Not sure I would go there again.

Ideal for stopoverPosted Aug 15, 2013
We needed a hotel for a stopover en route to Catania. For this purpose this hotel was ideal. The staff were very helpful, the room clean and comfortable and the breakfast excellent.

Best LocationPosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel was amazing, right in the middle of the city close to everything. It was absolutely spotless, staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice of what little there was, a bit more of a selection would be great. No pool but we knew that before booking, it would have been nice to have a dip

Great place to stayPosted Jul 12, 2013
Pros: Comfortable and great value, helpful staff.
Stylish contemporary hotel in a peaceful side street in an upmarket part of Palermo, yet within easy walking distance of the historic centre. Excellent position for bus from and to the airport - it stops just round the corner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Just up the road is a very good restaurant, Cucina Papoff, good value in fine surroundings.

Often in Palermo. Tried all hotels 4-star and above. Plaza Opera is the only one that is up to standard
