Goid location. Would be very noisy in higher season. Very clean. Nice location and great view. Beds very hard but rooms very clean. If you want a hotel with charm this is not it. Breakfast only ok especially after guest house stay in Taormina .

Pros: Nearness to beach
Cons: Dining room
Location: Loads of restaurants and lovely old town to explore
Very helpful staff nice atmosphere, dining room looked beautiful, but looked like it was dressed for a wedding obviously didn;t attract people as most nights it was empty.

We had a great time during a short 1-night stay. We could walk from train station, to the beach and many sites... wished had stayed longer.

Great location, nice hotel

Good points: hotel is pretty much on the beach, a few mins walk into the old town, good breakfast, comfy rooms, friendly staff. Bad ponts: poor aircon, and never had any hot water in the shower. Overall would recommend due to location.

Sea-side hotel out off season .

Pros: Just opposite the beach and a short walk from the town
Cons: Lack of hot water.
Just spent 2 weeks in Sicily in a variety of hotels. Riva del Sole was the most expensive, but by far the worst. We stayed for 1 night in February. The heating in our room seemed inadequate, always feeling chilly. The biggest problem was a complete lack of hot water in our bathroom. We complained twice in the evening without success. The following morning we complained again and were given a key to another room with hot water. Pity they couldn't have done that the night before. The problem was compounded by the fact that no-one at the front desk spoke much English. In previous hotels the front-desk staff always had adequate English and surely this is a prerequisite of the job. Also the towels were like cardboard and the walls were like paper. We wouldn't have minded if it was cheap but it was the most expensive we stayed at.

Perfect location but...

Posted Sep 7, 2011 on Hotels.com
Hotel Riva del Sole is in a great location only a few feet away from the beach and a short walk from all the restaurants and shops. Beautiful view. Two things left me with desire of maybe looking for another location next time I go back: -Air conditioner in the room was horrible. We were 4 families in 4 different rooms and all the rooms were the same. -I called the front desk for assistance with the internet and the manager hanged up the phone on me.

General atmosphere uncongenial despite good level of material comfort. Service patchy, hair dryer and TV remote did not work, breakfast very poor (over-abundance of sweet products, poor joghurts, meats and cheese. Mature couple

Very nice hotel

Hotel Riva del Sole is in a perfect location for touring the Taormina area and offers a quiet relaxing beach experience as well. The rooms have huge private balconies overlooking the ocean and pool with views of the beautiful coast line. I will recommend it to friends and stay here again when I return. It is a very good value in an area of very high price hotels.
