Who wants to stay in a building site?Posted Jun 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
We arrived early, check-in could be from 10:00am onward. There was no sign for the hotel and we couldn't find a vehicle entrance. We eventually found a locked pedestrian side gate. We stood outside for 15 minutes ringing a bell. We were met by a man who spoke no english, and was apparently in charge of the workers who were carrying out finishing works on the building. He then took us past an unmanned bare reception desk up a unfinished stairs Workers were cleaning down surfaces as one would on completion of building works. The man showed us a bedroom. We discovered that we were the first guests, and that there would be just one employee of the hotel on duty that evening (but there was no hotel employee present while we were there). We then inquired about parking and restaurant facilities. We were informed that we would have to park our car in the public Piazza outside the complex. We then looked around the (unfinished) inner courtyard and then looked in to the restaurant area and found that it was equipped with chairs and tables, but absolutely nothing else (such as serving equipment, cutlery, glassware etc etc).At this point nobody had arrived to speak with us, we didn't want to stay- on our own- in an unfinished building with absolutely no facilities, as the final two nights of our holiday. This hotel is nothing like the description provided on the property's website.
