Nice location but horrible hotel!

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: We liked that it was right on the beach however it was storming while we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors.
Cons: It really needs to be renovated!
Location: Location is pretty nice! The Key Lime House and surrounding shops were fun.
We were not pleased with our two night stay at this hotel. The rooms are extremely run down and bare bones. If you want a microwave or fridge you'll need to pay an extra $20 a day. The beds were tiny. My husband and I traveled with our two children. Parts of the baseboard in the room were missing. The gaping hole was unnerving. Thankfully I didn't see any bugs because of it though. The water temp of the shower was horrible. It varied from hot to cold so my 6 year old daughter got burnt taking a shower. The free breakfast was a surprise and it was delicious. Even the restaurant is extremely run down though. We won't be staying here again.

The room smelled horrible. Walked into the room eyes started burning. Turned around and walked out. Would NEVER recommend this to anyone. Time to gut it to the block and start over.

Isn't what it seems

The internet makes this hotel out to be somewhat of a resort. The property was poorly maintained. WiFi wasn't obtainable and there wasn't access to the beach.

Pros: Well, the pictures caught our attention
Cons: This hotels needs re-construction. It is literally falling apart.
This place is falling apart and in very bad shape. Abandoned. Creepy. The actual condition is very far from the pictures and the advertising. This is very close to 'false advertising', as a matter fo fact. Do not book on this hotel!. Look for something else! Worse part: after the false advertising, if you book, and fall in the trap, do not expect a refund.

Hotel on the Beach without any access to the Beach

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Excellent Restaurant and view of the ocean.
Cons: Complete overhaul of the hotel, need tables at the restaurant that do not fall apart while eating at them. Need stairs put back to access ocean.
Location: Great location, lots to do nearby at City Place and West Palm in general
The hotel itself is in very poor condition but it appears that they are renovating the rooms at this time. The real negative is that there is no way to access the ocean front at all. You are looking right at the ocean and yet simply can't get their. You have to walk about a half a mile to the public beach to access the ocean. Also the meals at the restaurant are excellent to say the least but the condition of the restaurant and tables are horrible. Also the restaurant is one half inside and one half outside with no a?c for the inside and only 4 umbrellas outside.

Clean friendly staffe but a bit run down

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: location, ambiance, quiet and peaceful, and Pet Friendly
Cons: rehabbing is a must
Location: little town with some cute cafes and restaurant - but the food in The TIDES at the hotel is def worth the stay
the motel is situated in a great area, quiet and peaceful. The building is a bit run down, it looks like they may be remodeling but rooms were clean and pretty. The staff in the front, nice, pleasing and accomodating. Unfortunately the access to the beach was close down thru the hotel, we had to walk a few blocks to the local public beach access area. Its best quality, the bar/restaurant by the pool - great ambiance, drinks, and the food reasonable and very good. Nothing like oceanfront dining! Would go again once the stairs.

You get what you pay for ...

Pros: The staff!
Cons: The overall condition of the facility! The pool had trash and look unkept. I would not swim in it.
Location: We attended a concert at the fairgrounds.
Food was amazing! Hotel staff friendly. Clean rooms. The condition of the facility left a lot to be desired. The stairs to the beach was broken.
