Hotel is too flashy

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: The restaurant was good. They have a nice pool.
I found the hotel to be rather gimmicky. The rooms have some novel items in them. However, it doesn't feel genuine. The hotel probably appeals to a younger more hip crowd. I am 40. I arrived on a Thursday and it was pretty quiet. However, on Friday and Saturday there is a pool party scene. My room was close to the pool so I had to listen to loud music until late at night. However, I wasn't really bothered too much by that. This hotel is located about 2 miles from downtown. On check in, they require signing a form that includes not bringing outside alcohol into hotel rooms. That is a bit unusual. Drinks at the hotel bar were quite expensive.

The hotel is lovely. I stayed there twice because of the fun atmosphere and trendy design. It's clean and I was pleased with its' amenities and location. But i always forget how bad the service is.. one lady at the reception and one at the pool area seemed to be doing their job, they smiled and helped, while the other personnel was inefficient and had an attitude. I felt like they were doing me a favor by answering my questions. I am from the hospitality industry myself, it doesn't require unique skills, but it's not for everyone because the attitude has to be right. Asked for an ashtray twice at the pool, never saw waiters again. My first visit was for my birthday celebration and I don't know why I would like to see these poker faces and hear that tone of voice on my special day. Who knows maybe the management team doesn't treat its' employees well.. the fact is that i am not sure if I am coming back

Expensive hipster hotel

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Hipster novelty but that quickly wore off
Cons: Rooms are dark, need better lighting and grounds should be monitored for trash and debris more frequently
Ultra hipster and overpriced hotel. Parking situation is atrocious given the room rates and grounds could be cleaner. There was an empty beer holder and filthy towel sitting outside room for almost 24 hours

Pros: Ambiance.
Cons: Nada
Gay friendly. Groovy hotel and pool area. I've been to Palm Springs several times. One of the better experiences.

Delivered as promised!

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Cool aesthetic, very inclusive vibe (kids, dogs, seniors, couples, singles, lgbt, whatever... all seemed welcome), awesome service, and a1 facilities
Cons: Afternoon pool music ranged from cool/casual to eerie and spooky. Spooky is not good. Room showed a bit of wear and tear.
Location: Borrow bikes from the front desk and cruise the neighbourhoods. Head to Joshua Tree Park. Restaurants. Pool scene. Head up the tram.
We booked the Ace for a quick getaway because we were looking for an interesting, eclectic, but comfortable experience. The Ace is all of those things. Expedient check-in, great facilities, comfortable room, and great clientele made it an awesome stay.

Wonderful staying

It's a very well designed boutique hotel that has a very unique desert vibe. They have vintage furnitures inside every room which makes u take photos nonstop. The pool is nice and the jacuzzi is perfect for nights. I would definitely stay there again.

Great funky and hipster resort in Palm Springs

Posted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: Very well put together and well decorated rooms.
Cons: When I checked into my room, there was a strong smell of some sort of cleaner in the room. Some people might like it but I found it overpowering.
Location: It's about a 5 minute drive from downtown and not really close to any other facilities.
I stayed at the Ace in Palm Springs for two nights from Monday to Wednesday following the Cochilla festival. The Ace resort is in a beautiful setting and is excellently decorated. The room is very very comfortable and the pool-side areas are lovely too. I was able to enjoy the pool and gym and restaurant.
