Cons: Really look after the cleanliness, with white flooring and white everything it can look dirty
Location: Cheekys is great for brunch!
a little overrated in terms of facilities - Amazing staff !!! - The rooms look a little bit old, they just did a coat of paint and added some furniture that has seen better days, the staff was great, the bed is comfy.

Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our room, the grounds, the quiet atmosphere, the cleanliness, the friendly staff and the close proximity of downtown.
Cons: An upgrade of the shower/bathtub would be a great improvement.
Location: WE enjoyed shopping, eating in fine restaurants and going to a tavern to meet local people.
The staff greeted us with a warm welcome. We were early to register but discovered our room was ready and had been upgraded from a premium studio to a cottage suite. We were promptly escorted to our accommodations and were brought ice at our request. Through our entire stay we were treated courteously. Room service was prompt. We were told many fine restaurants were located within walking distance which they were. I am disabled and am only able to walk short distances but found I was able to walk to the restaurants, shops and bars easily. The pools were clean and well maintained. The food was excellent, generous and reasonably priced, the times we ate at the hotel. The cleaning staff was always available to service our room when we requested service. We usually do not require a change of sheets and towels and did not find we needed them here for our four day stay. The beds are extremely comfortable and assured us of a good night's sleep, especially for a person with back problems. There was always someone available for help if needed. The room was quiet and we were not disturbed by other guests, groundspersons, or the cleaning staff. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Avalon and would like to return again if we return for a vaction in Palm Springs.

They were amazing we checked in 5 hr early, yes it was a tues, but, just saying the staff was amazing.

Unfortunately Time Warner Cable had taken over the hotel in a retro fit operation. Guests were angry as we were unaware this was to happen. The manager Sean Najarro handled my situation very professionally exceeding expectations in terms of making some concession on the billing. Happy to return next year!!!!

I was given a room with a fake window and half street walkway window with a a view of any peeping Tom and an electrical box....Room #301. The door to the vestibule did not lock and faced the parking lot. The key device was no longer working. I spoke to the desk about the lack of safety and I got the deer in he head light look. I take offense to this as a single traveler as I actually have to pay more for a suite. If they give you room #301, find another hotel. DC

Pros: valet parking was good and was included in the price of the room
Cons: no coffee maker in room, resort fee of $35 per day is excessive
Location: intereresting places to walk to

Pros: Nice decor, privacy, a very toney atmosphere but not snobby.
Cons: Wifi was non-existent in our room, but we were told that they were upgrading.
Location: Downtown - close to all
While our room was quite modest, the atmosphere at the Viceroy is pampered, private and restful. Great drinks and appetizers, two pools, lots of amenities in the hotel room.

ROOM NEEDED MAJOR REFRESH. OLD, STAINED AND FRAYED CARPETS AND FURNITURE. SHOWER WAS SIZE OF A SHOWER MAT WITH NO ROOM TO MOVE AROUND OR PLACE SOAP OR TOILETRIES EXCEPT ON FLOOR. TOILET CLOGGED SEVERAL TIMES AND ROOM SMELLED LIKE CRAP ALL WEEKEND. GROUNDS AND LOCATION NEXT TO MOUNTAIN ARE BEAUTIFUL AND SAVING GRACE

If I were living in the 1970's, this would be a great resort. Looks like time has passed this hotel by. It is in serious need of updating. It was barely worth 1/3 the price they were charging, in my opinion. Room smelled 'musty and moldy'. No more rooms (of the same rate) were left, so they were going to switch us to a larger room (and charge us for the upgrade). After complaining, they 'comped the upgrade'. That room was definitely not worth what they were charging. I wasn't impressed with the staff at reception either. The only good thing was the location - walking distance of restaurants in the downtown area. I won't be going back.

We have enjoyed our stays at other Viceroy properties and have come to expect the brand to deliver a great experience. This hotel disappointed on many levels. The room was very tired. I have experienced a better bathroom at some gas stations. To be more specific - the shower water was impossible to regulate and it had a shower curtain. A four star hotel should not have a shower curtain. Our room had one window that looked out on to a busy guest walk way. Therefore, the dingy curtain had to remain closed in sunny Palm Springs for our entire stay to maintain our privacy. The worst part of the stay occurred upon exiting our room on the first morning. We were greeted by a dead bird. We alerted the staff. Upon our return to the room an hour later after breakfast, the bird was still there. In fairness, the staff was friendly - they were just not responsive.
