Great value downtown Palm Springs

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Location Clean Quiet Nice layout and architecture
Location: Shopping Restaurants Thursday art fair Art and Design museum
This is a great hotel in the heart of Palm Springs, walking distance to most restaurants and adjacent to the main shopping street. The room is clean, beds are comfortable and the included breakfast is very good. It is also kid-friendly.

Decent hotel near airport and conveniently located

Walls thin causing noise to be a little annoying. I could hear the car alarm systems and horns chirping when arriving or returning guests locked their vehicles. Wanted to print airline boarding passes but business center computers could not connect to Internet. Hotel attempted to fix, unsuccessfully.

This hotel was just okay compared to others.

Pros: Pool area, stunning beautiful flowers everywhere, water fountains, laundry room, free parking on site.
Cons: Lighting in rooms, a more easily accessible in room refrigerator, actual bars of soap for those who do like soap dispensers in the shower.
Location: I would have preferred a hotel located more in the middle of the downtown area since there are so many shops to browse.
Our room wasn't ready upon arrival & were told to come back in an hour. They did not offer us use of pool side lounge chairs, lunch in the club room etc. I inquired about the property and she said she would tell us all about once we checked in. We ended up wandering the property ourselves. At an hour and a half mark, eight people walked in and they started checking them in. The manager came out to help with the small crowd that had gathered. I got back in line and when the last person was checked in, I asked the manager if our room was finally ready since we had been waiting for one and a half hours. The girl who originally told us our room wasn't ready, came up behind the manager and told him she would take care of us. She was not friendly. We ended up with a view of a wall, requiring lights with ready to die lightbulbs be lit at all times when in the room. You've heard of room darkening shades? This was room darkening room! I had requested a room with a view, booked months in advance and I got a wall. The pool area is beautiful and stunning flowers in bloom everywhere, which is a welcome delight! Breakfast is tough! Don't forget your card because you have to show it to the lady making the eggs and waffles or you don't get any! That doesn't make sense since the rooms come with included breakfast. This hotel seems like they want to make you work for every little thing. Lightbulbs need to be replaced in ALL lights.

Pros: Pool area is gorgeous.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: Beautiful location, but I was in a conference most of the time.
Chose this hotel based on the pictures on the Internet and the price and location. The pictures didn't do it justice. Gorgeous! The staff was amazing, as well.

Not one of the "Best" Westerns.

Pros: Excellent location for downtown Palm Springs. Friendly staff. Not many children, mostly more mature guests and the pool area was nice and quiet.
Cons: The breakfast needs to be greatly improved. No need for cook. If a hotel is advertised as a non smoking hotel it should be just that.
Location: Excellent location for downtown Palm Springs. Plenty of natural wonders to explore as well as the down town area itself.
An attractive hotel from the outside, well kept gardens pool and hot tub. We stayed 8 nights. The staff were very helpful when we checked in, the room we were given was so dark that we asked if we could change it, they said not to unpack and that they could move us the following day which they did but all the rooms were exceptionally dark and we ended up with one of the few that had any daylight at all. Ordinary plain motel room with not much thought to décor which was disappointing considering how pretty it looked outside. We were surprised to have to pay for a microwave in the room which is normally free in motels these days. Comfortable bed. Lots of smokers standing and sitting outside non-smoking rooms and in the smoking areas next to the breakfast area and pool, this was horrible as it made our room smell smokey and was unpleasant to walk through. It appeared that more thought was given to the comfort of smokers. Breakfast was poor. It was far from the "full American breakfast" advertised. Long queue (15 in front of us one morning) for individually cooked tiny omelette or waffle, we made the mistake of asking for both but were swiftly told to choose one or the other by a cook lacking in people skills. Other's made the same mistake and it made for an unwelcoming atmosphere. Nothing hot to accompany omelette. Breakfast was so poor that we ate elsewhere after a couple of days, most unusual for a Best Western. We wouldn't stay here again.
