Love the tropical theme! Beds and pillows were extremely comfy. The shower in the room was excellent. Very spacious and well kept. The pool was very nice with a fantastic ambiance. Family or couple friendly. Great value for the accommodations and location!

Great hotel for a little stay-cation

Posted Apr 15, 2014
The hotel was cute, tiki themed, clean. The room was a little small, but that was fine. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and nice, but small as well. It was a charming little place. I would stay there again.

Wouldn't recommend this one

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Clean linen
Cons: Most things
Location: Breakfast at Elmers is definitely worthwhile .
This accommodation is quite away from downtown Palm Springs. Definitely not in walking distance and probably not advisable to walk to downtown. Would not class this as an hotel, outside entrance doors and parking in front of property. Didn't feel comfortable about the security of the room straight on to the parking lot. Very disappointed with our stay here. Booked for three nights but left after just two. Room was dark, dingey and dated. Pool area was particularly busy and noisey, very family friendly! Residents with boom boxes in the pool area after 9pm. We had no hot water for showers on both mornings, even after letting staff know. Too hot in Palm Springs to not be able to take a good shower. Very disappointing visit.

Great hotel for an in and out trip.

Pros: Already stated
Staff were very helpful. Chaz was excellent, professional and assisted with a very late check in. All Staff were courteous, friendly and went out of their way to make stay pleasantl. They also helped me locate a watch I had left in the room after checking out. I will stay there again. Only S15.00 from airport. Very good value

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Comfortable room with okay amentities. TV didn't seem to have many channels and there was no guide to the ones that did exist. Oh, and the A/C unit was a bit loud.

1)No coffee supplies in room. Had to obtain in front office 2) floor crack as you walk in room (2nd floor) 3) toilet ran by itself during night 4) ice machine was very far from our room

Wonderful Experience

Pros: staff and price
Needed a good deal on a room and found Caliente to be a great deal. At check in the gentleman who assisted us named Chaz gave us a free upgrade b/ we checked in on Yelp, so that made the deal even better, he was very accomodating and a pleasure to work with. The community is not brand new so you do have to keep this in mind when you stay here but it had a very retro feel to it and we loved it. Would definately stay again.

Caliente Tropics

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: I loved the retro tiki feel of the place.
Cons: I wish they had a tiki bar.
Location: The hotel was minutes away from the convention center.
The rooms were ok. The AC was a little loud. But The price was a good deal.

Needs definite renovation

Posted Apr 7, 2014
There was no hot water in the shower. The hotel staff after taking a cigarette break showed me how if you only turn the flow on halfway from the tub, then the cold water leaks out the tub area and the warm (not hot) will come through the shower head. The tv is in the sitting area and too far to view from the beds. The blow dryer burned out. I hate to be a whiner but if it wasn't $200.00 a night I wouldn't have expected a nicer place. It was built in the 60's and needs to be updated pretty badly.
