Nice facility. Lacking in service.

Posted Apr 5, 2015
2 night stay. Room was not cleaned/bed made/towels delivered after first night. Front desk attendant did not know why and was not able to locate manager. She was not able to provide discount for hotel's failure to provide complete service included in room rate as it was booked through 3rd party - Expedia.

No Kleenex in the room at all. Tub was very slippery and there was no rubber mat. Someone will get hurt eventually! Room was exceptionally small for a Marriott! No refrigerator.... Very noisy at night.

Good value for the money

We stayed here for four nights while attending the Indian Wells tennis tournament. It was nice to come back to a well cleaned room after long days and evenings in the sun. We enjoyed pleasant breakfasts in the Bistro. Our room was bare bones and the sink area was very cramped, but for the reasonable room rate in costly Palm Desert, overall we were very comfortable.

Marriott Courtyard - Quality Lackluster For Price.

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Biggest plus. We did get a quieter room at the hallways end and on the 3rd floor (side that Applebee's restaurant is on). This was huge for me.
Cons: The bathroom door set up in the room's just a stupidly designed set up! The huge door opens outward covering the sink outside of the bathroom?
Location: The 2015 Indian Wells ATP tennis tournament. Desert Falls golf course across the street (Cook). Close drive to Starbucks (5 mins). Good restaurants
Usually I'm a big proponent of the Marriott brand inclusive of Courtyards. While this one wouldn't be at the top of my usual list for the higher quality of service I've come to expect. Particularly at the higher season rate of $269 a night + taxes, etc... Upon check in, we just wouldn't be afforded securing our room earlier than the 3 pm. Ok, well I suppose the hotel was quite full to their credit. The next smaller simple request was asking the front desk staff for a mini-refrigerator that most hotels have anymore. They had said they would summons me one, however, the next day of our three night stay had come and gone. No promised mini-refrigerator had shown up. Now for the positives. The room's beds were comfortable with decent pillow comfort. The wi-fi signal was average but NOT horrible. The outdoor limited size pool to cool off and the hot whirlpool's nice with some shaded lattice area to sit or lounge. The HDTV had a nice big (46"?) picture with The Tennis Channel which is why we came to Palm Desert. The 2015 Indian Wells ATP BNP Paribas tournament. I travel a lot. Throughout the USA and the world. I have some higher standards on what I consider good hotels. This one is ok, but not the Marriott quality I had expected. Their employees try but fall short in many areas. Next time, I might look elsewhere for the money. i.e. Shadow ridge Marriott property nearby.

Harlan, Thank you for staying with us and sharing your experience during the 2015 Indian Wells ATP BNO Paribas tournament. We do have a limited amount of refrigerators available to our guests and with the tournament we sometimes unable to fulfill all requests for this item. During this time of year due to the higher season it is more difficult to secure an early check-in. I do hope you will give us another chance to serve you next year for the 2016 BNP Paribas.

Pros: It was quite and clean. Front desk area had a mini market off to the side in a corner. pool area clean.
Cons: Provide a fridge and breakfast in the room price. Applebees next door does not serve Breakfast. Rooms need some updating, and a coat of paint on walls
Location: Not much to do there. Must drive a distance to reach any shopping. Applebees restaurant is just across the parking lot but not open until 11 am.
Its good for a 1 night stay, passing through onwards to another city. Compared to other hotels in the area they dont offer much to patrons. We stayed 5 nights but next time will find another hotel that offers a little more then basics.Difficult finding the elevator which was in a room on its own away from hallway. Positive side is no elevator noise to be heard during night. If they include the breakfast in the price it would be more satisfactory.

Thank you for staying with us in Palm Desert. Our facility does have refrigerators available to be delivered to your room upon request. The Courtyard brand does offer a breakfast package in some rates although as a standard it is not typically included with your room. Thank you for sharing your experience with us; we hope to see you again in the future.

Good value in Palm Desert

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: see above
Cons: Include a breakfast in price
Location: Applebees next door. Other restaurants near. Several Starbucks and Ralphs grocery. Convenient to many public golf courses and a nice driving range.
This is not a luxurious facility but very comfortable. The location is convenient to everything in Palm Desert. The room is a typical motel configuration but very comfortable. The hotel has a nice cafe that serves throughout the day. We did not eat in cafe but many guests did, Breakfast is not included in room price, The hotel has a large pool and nice outdoor seating. Also has a coin washers and dryers, All in all a very nice room at a reasonable price. crayon

Quiet location. Not crowded

Was looking for a hotel in Palm Springs but everything was sold out. Even though this was in Palm Desert it wasn't so far away. Rooms were comfortable and enjoyed having balcony. Starbucks in the lobby was convenient.

Room smelled like a poker room - despite being a non- smoking room, the bathroom smelled like people sat in there & smoked packs of cigarettes. Staff notified, nothing done - no room to change to first night, no follow up
