Amazing hotel

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing, the only downside was it was so hot outside.
Location: The location was about 5 miles from Palm Springs and there was restaurants and shops nearby.
We stayed here for 1 night on the way to San Diego and we wished we could have stayed longer. The suite was gorgeous and very spacious, we had a lovely bedroom with a walk in wardrobe, lounge area, dining table and full kitchen. Everything felt very clean and new. The furniture was in perfect condition and the air con was quiet. There was plenty of parking and we could park the car within view of our room. There was loads of storage room and drawers and the kitchen had pots, pans a and cutlery. If we had been staying here longer it would have been perfect.

overnight only

Pros: Would have been good for a week stay - not a one-night location.
Since we arrived late and check-out is 10am we didn't have a chance to take advantage of any amenities this location has to offer. Pretty pricey for a one-night stay!

Comfortable, quiet villa-style resort.

We were pleasantly surprised by the overall peace and quiet we enjoyed at the Desert Oasis, even at the pool. They granted our request for a golf course view which was beautiful, peaceful, and private. The kitchen was well-stocked and the bathroom was roomy with a large, comfortable bathtub. The bedroom was large with a large walk-in closet and a safe; the bed was a bit on the firm side and the pillows were thin. The TVs in both the living room and bedroom were nice flat-screens with plenty of channels. Around the pool area there are 3 BBQs for guest use, and BBQs outside each of the five buildings are also available. The staff was accommodating and friendly; however, beware of the Concierge desk where the staff there will try to get you to listen to the 90-minute time-share presentation during your stay. A firm "no thanks, not interested" was enough to get them to stop. The parking lot behind our building was convenient and close to our villa. I overheard many guests say they come back every year; I'm not surprised.

1 bedroom villa

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: See comments above
Cons: See comments above
Location: See above.
This is a very nice facility in Cathedral City. We booked the 1 bedroom villa, which was a spacious end unit with balcony and only one shared wall. Hotel noise was very minimal, but traffic noise from Cathedral Canyon Drive was disruptive at night. Nice flatscreens in both living area and bedroom. Kitchen was very well appointed with dishes and utensils, updated electric stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher and clean refrigerator (full size with freezer on top). Staff were friendly and welcoming at check-in/out. No charge for parking. Only downside we would mention is facility charges for room cleaning, fresh linens, towels, etc. We were there two nights so did not require. But if you do require, it's pricey: room cleaning fee was $40 per clean, linens extra, towels extra. So if you did want this every day, expect to add about $75 per day to your room fee. Also, resort listed tennis courts among its amenities, but the courts are at the neighboring country club and Welk guests have no special access to their use. Courts are available for rental but we did not inquire. I would not describe that as an "amenity."

Great golf-resort experience

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable accommodations; friendly and helpful staff; good golf; nice atmosphere overall
Cons: Golfing could move along more; too many people on a course that they really aren't ready for, which slowed things down a lot
Location: Location not the greatest -- Cathedral City isn't exactly high end -- but shopping, movie theatre, stores, and restaurants easily accessible by car.
We had a very nice time at this resort, which turned out to be as advertised on the Expedia site. No surprises, which was a good thing!

Great Location

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: The hotel location provided ease of access to other areas. The kitchenette was great, also being on the main floor and close to the pool was perfect.
Cons: All was great, just enjoyed the great weather.
Location: Access to Palm Springs, Palm Dessert, shopping and activities in these areas was good, its nice to go places when time permits.
The hotel location was great, and the hotel provided a sense of security. The pool and activities provided at the hotel was great. The room was very nice with all amenities needed. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. The weather was great, just laying at the pool area enjoying the beautiful weather was sufficient. Enjoyed our time in surrounding areas, Palm Springs and Palm Dessert, great restaurants, fairs and shopping, each day was great.

Nice units with truly full kitchen.

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Cons: Not a fan of the time share speech upon check in but knew about it and expected it. Once it's over you can enjoy your week.
Location: Was in a good location to get around the tourist sites, part way between Palm Springs and Palm Desert.
The units at Desert Oasis are very nice with large living room, comfortable furniture, large flat screen TV, good sized bedroom with king bed and TV, and fully equipped kitchen, complete with basic supplies. It's not the most modern (i.e. no granite countertops) but nice otherwise. Loved the pool area with palm trees and multi levels. Nice flowers and shrubs around the complex. It was cleaned once during the week we were there, and they have a recycling program. Value for price was excellent.

Nice place, our room a little noisy

Posted Feb 26, 2014
We stayed on the second floor in room 157. It was pretty noisy from the road close by. The room was clean, and well appointed, staff was very nice. The location is a little far from restaurants and activities, but would definitely recommend it for 2 people if you are willing to drive a bit to dinner and activities.

Still a nice hotel.

Cons: Hours of food and beverage service. Not early nor late enough.
Always pleasant. Everything is close at hand. Comfortable.
