Charming & CleanPosted May 21, 2015
Pros: We had a really tiny cute patio outside our room, and the pillows were REALLY nice! The bathroom was very nice too.
Location: We went to the "Living Desert", and it was fabulous! We wished we had had more time to look at the exhibits - 1 1/2 hours wasn't enough.
My husband and I had never been to Palm Springs area before, so when I booked the hotel I actually thought it was in PS. No matter - the hotel was fairly close, in a very nice area. The staff allowed us to check in several hours early, and our room was smaller but clean and inviting. The breakfast was tasty, with good variety. It was a thrill to stay in a place that had such cool history - built by Lucille Ball & Desi Arnez in 1957. It was fun imagining the old Hollywood splendor of that place back in the day. I will say that the atmosphere is a bit 'static'. It's not a "happening place" anymore. We were definitely the youngest people staying in the hotel! But I still felt that it was a really nice hotel for the money in a great area. All in all, I was pleased. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to stay at this hotel again, but it wasn't unpleasant. We had a good visit. I chose not to recommend this hotel to a friend simply because it suited us, but I'm not sure it would suit any of our traveling friends. It is not a criticism, but an acknowledgement that perhaps this isn't a "swingin hot spot" and wouldn't appeal to anyone who wants a bit more action (night life, "cool" atmosphere, etc.)

Way better than I had hoped for!Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Everything! I wish I'd had time to enjoy the pool!
Cons: Nope....don't change!
Location: I had a great time exploring thrift shops and one of your desk clerks headed me in the right direction!
The price was so reasonable I was prepared for a much lower quality experience overall. The desk people were warms, professional and helpful. My room was clean and quiet with plenty of pillows and all I needed in terms of "amenities" and more! Breakfast was delicious, nutritious and the wait staff was also quite pleasant.

The carpet was gross and the hotel amenities were lacking. You will survive at this hotel but it is not great. The breakfast was a joke.

Excellent hotel. Beautiful pool.Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Nice location. Good price for the quality. Nice breakfast with nut breads and a classy atmosphere.
Cons: Hallway carpets were in need of cleaning, but that is the only negative comment.
Location: You can sit in the pool and watch the golfers play through on a popular golf course. Close to Palm Desert and La Quinta with lots of shopping.
Very clean accommodations with friendly staff. Beautiful, very large pool by golf course. We had reservations and checked in around 7:00pm with very little time spent at the desk. Pool hours are long, so we could get in an evening swim and a morning one too.

very nice stay.Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Same as above, and the price was ok.
Cons: The continental breakfast. This really needs improvement.
Location: We went to a tennis tournament in Indian Wells tennis Garden and this hotel was located close by and also close to restaurants.
This hotel had to be fantastic in its time. Beautiful grounds and our room was very nice and clean. The continental breakfast unfortunately not that good. It wouldn't take much to correct this. But the room was comfortable, instant hot water in bathroom, clean bed, quiet air conditioner, and loved the old style furniture. very quiet while we were there. Will definitely go back.

Nice cute hotelPosted Apr 17, 2015
Stayed a couple of nights when it was not a busy time in April. Hotel was clean with a lot of photos of famous celebrities from the past, room was comfortable, resort was not very big, didn't use pool but it looked nice and well maintained, no exercise room. Check-in person didn't seem too friendly, seemed rushed to get me out even though there was nobody else waiting, didn't give me much in terms of the time of day in answering my questions. Got a room on the third floor far away from the main lobby and Frank's place. One night they had singing at Frank's place and overflowed dancing in the main lobby floor. Didn't bother us since our room was far away. Breakfast buffet was okay, not a lot of selection, nothing stands out except the coffee. Only one elevator for the entire hotel, never had to wait long (but I mostly took the stairs). Felt that the resort fees were a bit high for what was offered but got a good price on the room so the overall value was pretty good.
