Check your Credit Card after staying here!

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Cons: More diligence and training for the hotel staff to avoid overcharging Expedia customers for resort fees when we've already paid them on Expedia.
The rooms are cottage-style on the grounds of this expansive resort. We were given a map to drive to our room and parking appeared to be available outside of it. However, we found no parking available or anywhere near the unit, as there are not enough parking spaces to room/guest ratio. We had to drive back out of the resort, and back to a parking lot behind their resort shops, and walk 15 about minutes back to where our room was located, in 110 degree heat. The room did not match the look of the room on Expedia, but I would guess it was the same size, and I was only staying for one night, so we didn't switch. I slept comfortably, but in the morning, I got up, and stepped on a giant cockroach crawling across the carpet! Two days after I checked out, I noticed an additional fee charged to my credit card by the resort, when on Expedia's web site, it states: "No surprises! Here's the total price" When I called the hotel, they said it was a "Resort Fee" and they refused to remove it, even when I told them I'd booked it through Expedia, and there were not supposed to be any other charges. All my tax and fees had already been paid! So, my advise if you stay here, is be prepared for all of the above and be sure and check your credit card after you leave.

La Quinta Resort and Spa

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Beautiful setting and high customer service
Cons: A little clearer signage - easy to get turned around.
Location: Easy to get to smaller cafes, restaurants, grocery, nail salons, etc. if you want.
Super friendly staff - always went above and beyond. Nice big room - and clean. Grounds maintained beautifully - beautiful resort to walk around and enjoy.

Quiet getaway but lacking service quality

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Quiet, privacy from other guests. Bring your own food/drink.
Cons: Food service and quality. Staff at the coffee/market cafe, Adobe Grill and Twenty6 cafe couldn't have been less interested in providing good service.
Location: The River shopping and restaurant plaza offered good dining options for families. Golf was great no matter what course we played.
Resort was very quiet and seculded from other quests. There were more maintenance, cleaning staff and facilities workers than anything. Food quality in the restaurants was average for the high prices. This was disappointing after hearing such good things about La Quinta. Staff was equally disappointing and did little to offer help. We had to change rooms 3 times to get a decent casita. The first had electrical wires exposed from the ceiling, the second was located next to a huge generator and the water hearer. Neither of the first two rooms offered a garden view as the front desk receptionist claimed. Even after disclosing this was our first visit to the resort no one seemed to care. Finally found a fifth front office employee that spent a few extra minutes to find a room that offered the amenities and view we were paying for.

One thing after another

Posted Jun 16, 2015
When arriving to this beautiful hotel to check in we were informed after patiently waiting at the check-in area that Expedia had not sent the information to La Quinta Resort that we had pre-paid our reservation. We were then checked in by La Quinta but had to wait in the 110 degree weather for a room we didn't ask for. Once arriving to the room the television did not work. I love this resort but had a bad experience this time.

Lovely Sprawling Resort great for relaxation

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Landscaping, Fountains/Waterfalls, Friendly Staff, Texting instead of calling for room service and issues, spacious rooms, lots of pools, golf course.
Cons: Pool environment is OK. Could be re-vamped/updated and prices are very expensive there. Also, make the pool salt water. Our hair turned green!
Location: You don't need to leave the resort unless you want to party. We went to the The Nest for food and drinks and dancing. Plenty of stores around too
We love that La Quinta is a large, sprawling resort where everyone's room feels like its own Casita. Love that there are 41 pools, a golf course, a great mexican restaurant and excellent breakfast/lunch restaurant. You don't really NEED to leave the resort unless you want some night life. The La Quinta area has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. The service and friendliness of the staff is exceptional.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Excellent place to just get away from the hustle. Hotel rooms are more like casitas, very large, high ceiling and comfortable. Only downside is due to when they were built, the bathrooms are too small. 41 pools (all be it small) were a nice touch, to give you feeling of your own private pool. But best part of all is the center square, where all the dining, fun and evening activities took place. Sitting out and having morning coffee and dinner in this square were most memorable part. Highly recommend foe anyone looking for laid back place to just relax.
