“Get this place a makeover!”
Nothing has been upgraded from the white plastic coffee pot and toaster to the sagging mattress and torn up carpet! We stayed here 3 years ago because it is located a block off the main drag. It needs a complete upgrade. The carpet was worn out with a huge 3" line in front of the couch that had a ratty slipcover on it. I was less than inclined to sit on the couch or chair. The mattress was so saggy and lumpy I almost slept T on the undesirable couch! Horrible tv in both bedroom and living room. the microwave for was cracked and someone had glued it back together. Could be great if Diamond Resort invested some money into this property.
“Great location, roomy suite in a needy hotel”
We spent a 3 day weekend at the Marquis Villa Resort. Our suite was large, clean, and functional; and we were able to overlook the worn carpeting. The staff was helpful. The elevators did not inspire confidence. Some of the hallway windows were downright dirty.
“Nice and convenient hotel to spend time at”
Only problem was the air-conditioning went out a couple times, but both times it was promptly fixed. Very close to the strip (111) with many shops and restaurants and coffee houses to choose from, and Arenas Ave (gay bars/restaurants) which was a plus for us. The management removed the occupancy tax and resort fees for the air-conditioning situation.
“Wonderful Experience”
We booked this hotel last minute after cancelling our reservations at Aqua Soleil due to the manager's (Stephanie) extremley rude attitude. Upon arrival, we realized it was 2 minutes if that from the main strip. Its about 2 streets behind the main strip. The hotel is actually a condo, so has a full kitchen, bathroom, livingroom and dining room. Had a jacuzzi tub i enjoyed every night along with seperate shower and 2 toilets/bathrooms. The decor inside is around early 90's could be modernly upgraded but still a very nice look and feel to it. The staff was super friendly especially after i accidently flooded the bathroom a little with overflowing the jacuzzi tub. I would definently reccomend this to travelers who arent concerned with how modernly upgraded a room looks. The space and the price and the location and how nice it is, makes it all worth it. The only complaint is the really really outdated tiny tv's but i dont care too much of that so that didnt bother me, but i know some ppl love their big screens! Definently a pleasant stay over the mess at Aqua Soleil.
“I was impressed with the room size.”
Very spacious room. Close to downtown Palm Springs. Only complaint was internet connection
“Marquis Villa Labor Day '11”
Very nice hotel for a weekend on a budget.
“Great location, rooms need some TLC.”
Love the size and set up of room. Great for group get togethers. Rooms are outdated and need some maintenence. Our sofa bed was broken, carpet was ripped and furniture was a little shabby. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would be a bit more comfortable if rooms were upgraded, however for the price, it was not a bad deal.
“good times”
had a great time, very close to downtown, inexpensive, planning on going back very soon!!
“Not Impressed”
No housekeeping service to clean room only if you stay 4 day or longer and front desk Lady(Cindi) was very rude during check in process
“Get Outta Town”
We went for an extended weekend recently and it was great. The size of the room is great for the rate they charge, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen (old appliances) and a huge balcony. The location is amazing too, only a 2 block walk to main strip. The pool is kinda small for the size of the resort but it was clean and the surrounding area also clean. The kids pool was added bonus, my son extremely enjoyed it. Must have breakfast at Sherman's Deli located right on the corner less than 1 minute walk from hotel. And for those of you that have been to Palm Springs before will appreciate the underground gated parking. Will definitely stay again, actually booking something right now.
