Loved the Movie Colony Hotel!Posted Oct 2, 2013
Location: restaurants, shopping, great architecture
The Movie Colony Hotel was great and in a perfect location. Close to restaurants and shopping. We took the bikes for a cruise to see Elvis and Priscilla's honeymoon hideaway which was awesome! Would definitely go back. The front desk staff was very attentive and helpful.

What a Great TimePosted Aug 26, 2013
Cons: Table in the room, there is no place to set anything down.....Also, The MISTERS at the bar weren't working, and it would have been much more pleasant
We had such a great time....Small only 16 rooms, but all adult .....Met some great couples at the pool and at the Happy hour bar from 5:30 - 6:30 When you factor in the Continental Breakfast, Bagels, Yogurt, Granola, OJ, .....Free Wine etc. and a Great Ambiance Highly recomend...... Staff (Andrew) couldn't do enough for us. Really don't want anyone to find out about this place, so we can keep going back.

I liked the hotel. It is small with only 16 rooms but sometimes that's nice instead of staying at a big hotel. It is quiet and peaceful. Rooms are kept clean and staff is very friendly and walks you to your room and explains the hotel accommodations very we'll. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay here again.

Movie Colony disappointmentPosted Aug 13, 2013
A bit far from the main town centre when you haven`t got a car. I think maybe the Hotel is aimed at young couples, with the no children policy and Happy hour, My husband is 74 and I am 66 so we felt a bit out of place. Also there was no lift, so we had to lug our cases up and down one flight of stairs. It would have been better if we had been given a room on the lower level.I feel they should use pillow protectors as one of our pillows had horrible stains which showed because the single pillow slip wasn`t long enough and the pillow ended up hanging out. Pillow protectors can be removed and laundered keeping the pillow clean !! Having no one at reception after 7pm and before 9am isn`t really very good either, so I probably wouldn`t recommend it to my friends, but it was OK.I`m sure the young couples enjoyed the swimming pool, that area was kept very clean.

Cool Hotel with Lots of ExtrasPosted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is smaller hotel with only 16 rooms but with big values. Our room was clean and comfortable. Decor is modern and updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is an excellent value for the money. The room included a mini frig (that actually kept our snacks cold) with a small mini bar, robes, dvd player and plantation shutters. Comfortable beds with nice linens. Free breakfast, free wifi, free wine cocktail hour, free daily newspaper, free bike rentals, daily housekeeping. Also has a small pool and jacuzzi. No matter still perfect place to come to recharge in the middle or at the end of the day. Room service provided by popular restaurant next door. Bike or walk to many more. I wish there was a room safe in the room. We enjoyed our stay and would come again. We would recommend to others.

Great little hotel great atmosphere chill placePosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Had a nice relaxing time here, other guests were great, many conversations were had at the pool. The continental breakfast and happy hour freebies were a nice touch. Take the bikes out into town, use the provided bike trails (they take you behind the main strip). Standard room 23 was a nice setup 2nd floor and away from the main pool. There's good eats next door at the Mexican restaurant. As for the room I was concerned about dirty rugs/carpet as per other reviews, but ours was fine, smallish is room but comfy! First trip to Palm Springs, we will be back!
