Nice hotel, staff and service is questionable.

Beautiful resort, however staff could use more training(poolside staff in particular). When I finally got the poolside staff member attention, I was asked " could you do me a favor and move the table for me so I could set up you're umbrella". My girlfriend and I looked at each other in shock wondering why this staff member is asking us to do him a favor. After all we are on vacation and it was his job. Not a big deal to move a table, but not something you would expect to hear from a staff member on vacation. Vallet and bell service were also not up to par. My girlfriend and I had to drag along our own luggage after the vallet informed us they are busy and implied that it's better to take our luggage if we don't want to wait hours. Not a great first impression. Besides these two issues, we loves the property and enjoyed the spa. The hammocks also added a very nice touch which we enjoyed throughout our stay. We also enjoyed the restaurants great food and ambiance. Overall, we would like to stay here again but hope to experience better service. Hopefully we will decide to return and give this place a second chance.

Is the an Adult hotel or Disneyland

Loved the hotel but not all the screaming kids running around! I was there during the week and thought it would be more quiet.

Not good

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Booked a Lanai room so we could enjoy the access to pool off our patio, hotel failed to inform us the one full day we had there that the pool was CLOSED for a commercial shoot!! We spent extra and didn't even get to use it. We couldn't even talk on our back porch due to constant "quiet on set" orders. Hotel did not warn or attempt to remedy the situation when approached. Extremely poor communication. Should warn your patrons about such activities and how their stay may be affected. I had orange cones and caution tape off my patio. Terrible first experience here. Very disappointed

Upscale hotel with privacy.

Posted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: Landscaping was natural rather than manicured. Rooms were large with big windows.
Cons: Telephones need upgrading. Brighter light bulbs needed in rooms for reading.
Location: The Parker is about three miles from downtown Palm Springs. A car is needed to get to shopping or outside restaurants.
The Parker Hotel has beautiful grounds with desert flora. The rooms are large and generally comfortable, except for the modern leather chairs that cause one to slide off. The bed was superb. Two restaurants are on the premises; the first, Mr. Parkers, caters to fine dining, and the second, the more trendy and informal Norma's. We were clearly the oldest couple (mid-70s) at the Hotel. Most of the guests were considerably younger. Once in the hotel property, you do not see automobiles or hear traffic. It is very much like an oasis. Cars are valet parked and available anytime needed. One disadvantage is that there are no magnificent views of the mountains.

Best Place to stay in Palm Springs

Posted Feb 8, 2014
Pros: Everything( see above)
Cons: don't change a thing
Location: Easy access to get to from airport. Close to downtown palm springs, restaurants, and hiking/ mt biking trails. (personal love)
the Parker in Palm Springs is a throw back to the days when Palm Springs was the playground of the Hollywood set from Los Angeles. It is retro chic. There is an eclectic collection of art and memorabilia that makes your stay even more enjoyable. The staff is excellent and professional. Special Kudos to Julio the pool attendant who is a man of few words but pays attention to detail and does his job very well. The Spa is one of the best we have ever used. Professional staff and excellent treatments from facials to massages to wraps. (we did it all!) The cucumber vodka is a nice and succulent touch. Facilities are of superb quality. Especially enjoyed the workout (Boiler Room) facility and the saline pools. I plan on returning again every year for Valentines Day to spoil my wife....and me!!

A Wonderful Palm Springs Experience

Posted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: The foyer is a little different from the 'Hyatt' or 'Hilton' hotel chains, the grounds were lovely also.
Cons: Maybe the carpet leading to some of the rooms could be renewed. Guests should be made aware prior to booking that it is a 'very' pet friendly hotel.
Location: Location was pretty good, but you do require a vehicle
This hotel was recomended to us by another very satisfied guest of the Parker Palm Springs. We really felt as if we had gone back in time, but still was given the quality and service of a 'modern' hotel.

Great overall but room lacks bells & whistles

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Amazing grounds & common areas
Cons: Condition of rooms and amenities provided
The hotel grounds, lobby, pools, spa, common areas are all wonderful! We expected to find the same fabulous details in our room but were disappointed. The rooms were a bit dated and didn't have amenities that we expected from a hotel of this level. There were only a few television channels, no iPod dock or speakers for music, no fun reading material (I love going to hotels that provide local magazines for their guests). There was a cool rug that was strangely rolled up under the bed (maybe housekeeping forgot to lay it out?) and the bathroom walls and tile grout was kind of dingy. If you're looking for a great social scene with awesome bar and outdoor space, this is a perfect place. If you're looking for in-room comfort and a five-star experience, I'd check elsewhere.

While the property is amazing, I had more of an issue with the staff and the rooms. There were three of us in 2 beds that was technically in a connecting room (we didn't know the people next to us). The beds were small in our room, 2 doubles while there was room for 2 kings. Also, due to the paper thin walls and the headboards of the room next door sharing the same wall as ours, we couldn't sleep at all because the couple next to us were rather frisky all night long (hey, it's a hotel, all good and this is something they should be doing) and it sounded as we were basically right there with them. After not sleeping for more than an hour and informing the staff, they could care less...not even initially offering some type of extended checkout so we could sleep before our drive back to la. I had to be the one to bring it up, and it was a fight. While great grounds, the lack of professional service and the paper thin walls makes me not want to rush back to this hotel.
