“Outdated Hotel”
The floor plan of this hotel is not efficient. This is not a high rise hotel but one with separate buildings. Each building has two floors but no elevator! You have to lug your baggage up from the lobby out to the patio then walk to your building and then up that stairs. If you arrive at night, the walkways are very dark and it is difficult to see which building your are in. Then there is the WiFi. If you depend on high speed internet to work or do business forget about it. It takes forever just load up the google start page! To be fair, the staff is very courteous, attentive and helpful.
“If only the rest of the hotel was as nice as the lobby”
I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Although the pool area is nice, the hotel is old, and it looks it's age.
“The RIVIERA. "NOT IMPRESSED"”
Our room was facing the pool. A wedding was taken place and we had to leave most of the afternoon and evening. We were charged for using the coffee machine in the room!!!!!!! The maid did not empty the trash or even put new shampoo and conditioner. Finally, we were charged an extra $28.00 a day for parking, the pool and the coffee. What a rip off. We had diner at their 4 star restaurant and waited 45mns for our meal. We always go to Palm Springs but we will not return tot his place.
“Absolute Disaster”
You decide if the title is correct. No offer to take the bags at check in so we offered to carry ourselves. After check in we found that you need to go up and down stairs and through a few different buildings to get to the room. Room was superficially updated but clearly old...unable to open and easily close sliding door to the balcony, front door lock was bent and difficult to close. Laid on bed to relax and watch TV and the bed broke. Noticed that sofa bed was not made up although room was booked for 3 people. Went to pool as it was sunny but all chairs were taken and only the 'pay extra' cabanas were available so we sat in the bar area. Service was slow and hamburger was the quality you would get at a street fair (although the pina coladas were good and strong which was some compensation...although lunch for 3 at $150 should have been better). We were told it was easier to take a taxi to town and it took about 10 minutes to get one at the hotel. Later we couldn't find a taxi back so a gallery owner called the hotel and they were unable to help out. We got back to the room and the bed was fixed but the sofa bed was not made up so we had to call housekeeping again. At check out we called down to have the bags taken out front and were told it would take 20 minutes. After 30+ minutes I had to talk to the manager and the bags showed up after 45 minutes. Save yourself the aggravation. We had lunch on the way out at the Ace hotel which looks like a better play.

“Will NEVER return to this poorly-maintained and operated hotel.”
My fourth trip to the Rivieria since their opening, each worse than the previous. I arrived to find my room patio doors unlocked, mirrors askew, lamps not plugged in, and the bed box spring nearly on the floor (and used condoms under the bed). Beyond the pool and lobby, this hotel is a big dud. All flash and no cleanliness or service. To make matters worse, the Internet service didn't work, and despite a 45 minute call to India, the service provider and hotel did nothing to fix the issue, find me another room with service. I have never experienced such awful support over an otherwise simple internet access issue (router needing a reboot).
“Unbelievable Hospitality”
We were very impressed with the service at the hotel. That was the main thing that we kept noticing...they go completely out of their way (everyone) to be kind to you and assist you. Two other things: I am a photographer and couldn't get enough of the retro/modern mixed with old school palm springs interiors. And, the bars, lounging, amd pool areas would be amazing on a weekend or summer day/night! :)
“Great property, but on the highway.”
The property was very nice/luxurious, our room (the Junior Suite, I think) was spacious and with nice decor and a comfy bed. The spa, restaurant and pool area were also very nice--hip, clean, and well maintained. Had a great and reasonably priced massage. The staff was excellent. My only complaint would be the noise from the nearby roadways. Based on the resort's web site I thought the property was much more remote. In fact, the property was on two main roadways (my fault for not mapping the location) used frequently by emergency vehicles with sirens and loud delivery vehicles. Our room, while very nice, did have an unfortunate view of the parking lot. Overall, our stay was great, but we were surprised by the busy-ness of the area.
